More than 1 million people join the walk for a strong Vietnam entering a new era

The national walking program "Moving Forward with Vietnam" was jointly organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper and the Ministry of Public Security , in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day September 2 and the People's Public Security Traditional Day.

The launching ceremony at Ly Thai To Flower Garden (Hanoi) was attended by members of the Party Central Committee, co-Heads of the Steering Committee: Le Quoc Minh, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association ; Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, Deputy Minister of Public Security.

Also attending were Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh; Major General Pham Kim Dinh, Director of the Department of Political Work, Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee; representatives of leaders of ministries, branches, units, along with thousands of cadres, soldiers and people of the capital.

At 33 other points, 3,121/3,321 communes, wards, and special zones nationwide simultaneously organized with the participation of local leaders, police forces, and a large number of people.

Speaking at the ceremony, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper Le Quoc Minh affirmed that, with the mission and responsibility of the leading press agency in the country, Nhan Dan Newspaper not only informs and propagates the guidelines and policies of the Party and State but also organizes many cultural, sports and social activities to arouse national pride and solidarity.

The program “Forwarding with Vietnam” is of unprecedented scale, taking place simultaneously in 34 provinces and cities, connecting millions of hearts towards the Fatherland. This is not only a sports event responding to the movement “All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho” but also a journey of national aspirations, for a united and strong Vietnam entering a new era.

In his opening speech, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To emphasized that the People's Public Security Forces are always the pioneers in organizing activities to encourage people to exercise, protect the environment, and spread positive spirit to each locality. Every step today is a solid step on the path to building and protecting the Fatherland.

The program is a practical start in building a healthy living environment, improving physical and mental health, strengthening the movement of the whole people to protect national security, demonstrating the close relationship between the People's Public Security and the people.

Immediately after the launch ceremony, millions of people in 34 provinces and cities walked together, contributing to the goal of “1 billion steps towards a new era”. According to the Organizing Committee, there were 1,112,336 direct participants and 138,248 people registered online, recording a total of about 5 billion steps.

Within the framework of the event, Vietcombank pledged to contribute 3 billion VND to the Vietnam Children's Fund and launched the "1 billion green steps" program to support poor students on the occasion of the new school year 2025-2026.
