Overview of the conference.
Attending the workshop were Mr. Pham Van Thuy, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism; representatives of the Vietnam Tourism Association; Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Center for Tourism Promotion and Culture, Cinema of the province; representatives of more than 100 travel and tourism businesses nationwide and tourism experts.
Speaking at the opening of the workshop, a representative of the Provincial Tourism Association emphasized that Thanh Hoa has great potential for tourism development, with outstanding advantages in terms of geographical location, natural landscapes, cultural heritage and hospitable people. Along with that, the system of tourism facilities and infrastructure is increasingly being invested in synchronously. In recent years, Thanh Hoa has always been in the top of the country in attracting tourists. Although tourism has grown positively, the number of international visitors is still very modest, accounting for only 4.2 - 4.7% of the total number of visitors to Thanh Hoa each year.

From that reality, implementing long-term strategies, flexible promotion, focusing on attracting international visitors is really necessary. The goal is to enhance the position of Thanh Hoa tourism on the international tourism map, towards sustainable growth and becoming an attractive, friendly and safe destination. The workshop is also an opportunity for businesses, management agencies and experts to connect, cooperate more closely, and join hands to build an increasingly professional and deeply integrated image of Thanh Hoa tourism.
Representative of University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi delivered a speech at the workshop.
At the workshop, many opinions from travel businesses and tourism experts focused on analyzing current international tourism trends; the ability to welcome and serve international visitors; comparisons and lessons from localities... In particular, emphasizing the role of digital technology in approaching and attracting tourists.
Representative of Ninh Binh Province Tourism Association gave a speech.
Representatives of some tourism companies said that Thanh Hoa needs to change its mindset and innovate solutions to attract international visitors. First of all, it is necessary to invest heavily in online promotion platforms, build high-quality digital publications in many languages to introduce local tourism images on social media channels, international tour booking platforms and specialized media systems; organize famtrip programs to attract the participation of travel agencies specializing in welcoming international visitors... In addition, it is necessary to develop more experiential tourism products, community tourism associated with indigenous elements, preserve and promote traditional cultural values, creating a difference compared to other destinations in the region.
Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province Vuong Thi Hai Yen spoke at the workshop.
Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Pham Van Thuy, Deputy Director of the National Tourism Administration, highly appreciated the achievements of Thanh Hoa tourism in recent times. At the same time, he said that in terms of solutions to attract international tourists, there are 3 key issues that need to be discussed and effective solutions are needed as follows: Traffic connectivity, entry and exit procedures and management of foreigners in the area; meeting the supply and demand rules of economic activities; the "demand" factor in the market economy must ensure the activation of demand for specific products or following international trends.

He suggested that the Tourism Association and tourism businesses of Thanh Hoa province focus on the following specific issues: Quickly upgrade Tho Xuan Airport to become an international airport, while paying attention to developing a synchronous transport infrastructure system, connecting destinations inside and outside the province; Build products suitable for the international tourist market, focusing on products suitable for the 3 main international tourism market groups: Europe (including North America), Asia - Pacific (including Australia) and India - Middle East, and in line with the orientation of current major trends such as green tourism, community tourism associated with cultural industry, MICE tourism...; More effectively link with international media channels to convey the attractive message of Thanh Hoa tourism to key and potential international markets. Thereby contributing with localities nationwide to make Vietnamese tourism a particularly attractive destination for international tourists.
