Speaking at the conference, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia affirmed that in recent times, the Party and State have issued many guidelines and policies on ethnic and religious affairs; Party committees and organizations at all levels have proactively and promptly concretized the Party's guidelines and resolutions on ethnic and religious affairs, ensuring equality, solidarity, respect, and mutual assistance among ethnic groups for mutual development; ensuring the people's freedom of belief and religion; implementing many programs and projects to develop the economy, culture and society in ethnic minority and mountainous areas; improving the lives of ethnic minorities; investing in education, training, health care, culture, information and communication; preserving and promoting traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities, gradually eliminating backward customs and superstitions.

Authorities at all levels pay attention to resolving the legitimate and legal needs and aspirations of religious dignitaries and followers in accordance with the law, and strengthening religious solidarity.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia suggested that in the coming time, Party committees, Party organizations, relevant ministries, branches and localities continue to thoroughly grasp, concretize and organize the implementation of the Party's policies on ethnic and religious work in the current situation in accordance with each locality and unit according to the motto "not leaving any vacancy or omission of tasks"; focus on caring for and improving the material and spiritual life of ethnic minorities and religious people, especially in remote, border, island and particularly difficult areas.

Preserve and promote the fine traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities, promote the resources of religions for the cause of national development; continue to guide and pay attention to creating conditions for recognized religious organizations to operate in accordance with the provisions of law, charters and regulations; proactively prevent and resolutely combat activities that take advantage of ethnicity, beliefs and religions to cause insecurity and disorder, divide and sabotage the great national unity and religious unity.
