Border Guard - Since its opening, the Vietnam Military History Museum has welcomed an average of 20-30 thousand visitors per day. In order to increase the appeal and help viewers understand more about the image and qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", on November 15, the Vietnam Military History Museum opened a national fine arts exhibition on the theme "Armed Forces - Revolutionary War". This is also the first thematic exhibition held at the new headquarters of the Vietnam Military History Museum, located at Km6+500 Thang Long Avenue, Dai Mo and Tay Mo wards, Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi city.

Diverse and rich As part of the series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024), the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024), the Vietnam Military History Museum organized a national fine arts exhibition on the theme "Armed Forces - Revolutionary War". The exhibition introduces to the public 200 typical paintings, graphics, and sculptures by 193 painters and sculptors inside and outside the Army across the country created during the period 2019-2024. The works focus on vividly reflecting the image of revolutionary soldiers from the perspective of artists through various forms, from sculpture, graphics to painting, creating a colorful picture. The exhibition also helps the public better understand the image and qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in the two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism of the Vietnamese people as well as in the cause of building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland. At the same time, it praises the spirit of patriotism, readiness to fight and sacrifice to protect the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Fatherland and beautifies the image of today's soldiers in building a revolutionary, disciplined, elite and gradually modern army; in the campaign "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style", the solidarity between the army and the people... Specifically, the exhibition introduces 20 typical graphic works such as: "The legend of Dong Loc crossroads" by Trinh Ba Quat; "On the training ground" by Nguyen Ngan... Regarding sculpture, the exhibition introduces 30 statues with diverse materials such as metal, clay and stone. Typical works include "Mother of the Dong Khoi homeland" by sculptor Chau Tram Anh with white stone and copper leaf material; "Key point" by Colonel, Hero of the People's Armed Forces Le Duy Ung recreates the image of female youth volunteers at Long Dai ferry in the resistance war against American imperialism to save the country; "Memories of the Truong Son road" by painter Hoang Van Tung reflects the strategic military transport route providing human and material support to the battlefields in the South... As for painting, the exhibition introduces 150 works by artists with a variety of materials, rich in form and content. Typical works include "Joy with the sea and islands" (oil painting) by painter Le Hung; "Highland epidemic prevention" (oil painting) by painter Nguyen Van Chung; "Night patrol" (wood carving) by painter Vo Van Tieng; "Protecting the homeland's sea and islands" (oil painting) by painter Pham The Bo; “Marching at Night Through the Street” (collage of newspaper) by artist Hoang Thi Phuong... One arrow hits many targets Colonel Le Vu Huy, Director of the Vietnam Military History Museum, said that in recent years, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense and the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army have paid special attention to and highly appreciated the position and role of cultural, literary and artistic activities, including fine arts activities. In the process of national renewal, building a regular, elite, and gradually modern army, the theme of armed forces and revolutionary war has always been a source of inspiration for many generations of painters and sculptors inside and outside the Army, which continues to be promoted and reaches new heights. Thereby, it has truly become a sharp weapon on the ideological front, contributing to encouraging and motivating the army and people to achieve victory in the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland today.

The Vietnam Military History Museum is a permanent agency promoting fine art creation on the theme of "Armed Forces - Revolutionary War" and has actively innovated and organized many creative activities, creating strong influence, attracting the participation of many authors inside and outside the Army. In the period from 2016 to present, the Vietnam Military History Museum has organized dozens of creative camps, attracting hundreds of artists, painters, and sculptors across the country. Through the creative camps, artists have created hundreds of works of high artistic value, many of which have been displayed in national exhibitions. Towards the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day, the Vietnam Military History Museum has organized a campaign to create fine art on the theme of "Armed Forces - Revolutionary War" (2019-2024). This art creation campaign will be a place for artists to continue to grasp the Party's basic viewpoints and thoughts on the cause of building and developing literature and art, and at the same time, it is also an opportunity to meet, exchange, and share useful experiences. The campaign received 644 works from 407 authors across the provinces and cities nationwide, an increase of 150 works compared to the 2014-2019 period. “After consideration and selection, the Organizing Committee has selected 200 works in genres such as painting, sculpture and graphics to organize the exhibition. The exhibition is an opportunity to honor artists inside and outside the Army, with their affection and responsibility, enthusiasm and artistic creativity, who have enthusiastically responded to the Art Creation Campaign on the theme "Armed Forces - Revolutionary War" (2019-2024 period), creating valuable works of art, serving the cause of socio-economic development, national defense and security. Thereby, contributing to the propaganda and education of officers, soldiers of the armed forces and people, especially the young generation, to continue promoting revolutionary traditions, fostering patriotism, national pride, and determination to firmly protect the Fatherland of Vietnam in the new situation" - Colonel Le Vu Huy emphasized. It is known that the works at the exhibition will continue to be evaluated, selected, and proposed for consideration by the Council for the Fine Arts Award on the theme of "Armed Forces - Revolutionary War" for 5 years (2021-2025) of the Ministry of National Defense for the literature, art, and journalism award on the theme of "Armed Forces - Revolutionary War" for 5 years (2014-2019); organize the collection of a number of typical works; display and introduce to the public nationwide.
