Blood donation connects the bridge of sharing between Vietnam and Thailand

On July 20, the Thai Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, in collaboration with the Vietnam Red Cross Society and the Red Journey Program, organized a humanitarian blood donation program. The activity not only contributed to supplementing the blood supply for treatment, but also provided an opportunity for the Thai and Vietnamese communities to spread the spirit of humanity, build a bridge of sharing and foster friendly relations between the two countries.

According to Vietnam News Agency, at the program, Ms. Wiraka Moodhitaporn, Consul General of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh City, said: “Today's activity is a testament to the strong friendship between Thailand and Vietnam - not only at the government level but also at the community level. The kindness and spirit of cooperation between the two peoples will continue to be a solid foundation for the enhanced strategic partnership between the two countries."

On this occasion, the Thai Consulate General also donated an oxygen generator and nearly VND19 million to the Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross Society and the Red Journey Program to support volunteer activities in the community.

According to Mr. Nguyen Tuan Khoi, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the Central Red Journey Program, this blood donation campaign took place at a time when many localities were seriously lacking blood for emergency and treatment purposes, showing that the support from the international community is very valuable and timely.

Blood donors receive medical care and gifts from the Vietnam Red Cross Society and Thai and Vietnamese businesses.
