This practical and civilized work contributes to creating the image of the Capital as "bright - green - clean - beautiful", leaving a good impression in the hearts of domestic and international friends.

Unity for common goals
Implementing Plan No. 158/KH-UBND dated June 6, 2025 of the Hanoi People's Committee on organizing activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment has coordinated with military units, functional forces and local authorities to synchronously deploy a plan to install 1,012 toilets to serve the A80 parade and march. Of which, 612 mobile toilets are arranged by functional forces along main streets, Ba Dinh Square area, fireworks display sites...; 400 toilets are mobilized from agencies, schools, hospitals and private homes to open for free.
According to Ngo Thai Nam, Director of the Center for Agricultural and Environmental Technology ( Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment), this list of 400 locations is spread across many key wards, such as: Ba Dinh, Ngoc Ha, Giang Vo, Hoan Kiem, Cua Nam, O Cho Dua, Hai Ba Trung... These are all crowded places, convenient for tourists and residents to use during the event days. Notably, since the beginning of August, Hanoi Urban Environment Company Limited (URENCO) has coordinated with local authorities to promote propaganda, mobilize and deploy the "Free Toilet" identification logo at each location. The logo is printed on waterproof Decal material, mounted in an easy-to-observe position, and the exact location is updated on Google Maps for easy search by residents and visitors.
Not only is it a solution to meet the essential needs of tens of thousands of people participating in and watching the parade, the opening of free toilets also demonstrates the cultural beauty and hospitality of Hanoians. Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Hang, owner of Isushi Restaurant, No. 39 Phan Dinh Phung, Ba Dinh Ward, shared: "We are very happy to contribute a small part to help the capital welcome guests in the most thoughtful way. This does not cost much, but brings comfort and satisfaction to everyone."
Similarly, Ms. Pham Thi Ha, representative of Highland Coffee chain, No. 23 Quan Thanh, Ba Dinh ward, informed that the unit is ready to open restrooms at facilities in the central area for free service, and at the same time arrange staff to guide and maintain general hygiene.

Ms. Ngo Mai Loan, Head of URENCO's Communications Department, said that in just a short time of launching, the unit has coordinated with wards to organize the posting of 375/400 toilet locations, mainly restaurants, cafes, businesses and some households. At the same time, the company mobilized maximum human resources, vehicles and equipment to both operate the mobile toilet system and maintain environmental sanitation along the entire parade route and surrounding areas.
In addition, URENCO also pays special attention to environmental sanitation. Every day, the company increases the number of machines for sweeping and cleaning the streets, arranges workers to be on duty every 500m on the parade routes, and assigns staff to be on duty at each mobile toilet point to guide tourists, ensuring cleanliness and safety for users.
Spreading the spirit of responsibility and pride in the Capital

According to Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Minh Tan, the strong participation of authorities at all levels, businesses and people shows the sense of responsibility, love for the capital and pride when Hanoi is the center of important activities of the country. Small but practical actions, from installing mobile toilets to opening family toilets or cleaning up trash on the streets and sidewalks by environmental workers... all contribute to creating a beautiful image for the capital.
“The model of mobilizing free toilets from the community not only solves the pressure on event infrastructure, but also spreads awareness of hygiene, enhancing the image of “elegant and civilized Hanoians”. This is also a premise for the city to continue to maintain and expand the model during upcoming festivals and major events,” said Mr. Nguyen Minh Tan.
In addition, implementing the direction of the City People's Committee, the Department of Agriculture and Environment assigned the Hanoi Center for Agricultural and Environmental Engineering to sign an appendix to the contract with URENCO to survey and install 800 trash bins with white plastic bags at locations along the parade and marching routes. The Department also worked and agreed with the Hanoi Youth Union on a plan to arrange 6,300 youth volunteers to coordinate with URENCO to collect trash and propagate people not to litter indiscriminately along the parade and marching routes and neighboring routes.
With the support of the government, businesses and people, Hanoi is preparing for a truly impressive celebration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2). Every street corner and road exudes cleanliness, hospitality and national pride.
A total of 1,012 toilets will be set up for the event, including 612 mobile toilets installed at Ba Dinh Square, parade routes, and fireworks displays; 400 toilets at agencies, schools, hospitals, and private homes will be open free of charge.
The number of participating wards is 7 key wards, including: Giang Vo, Ba Dinh, Ngoc Ha, Hai Ba Trung, Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam, Cua Nam, Hoan Kiem.
