According to the latest data from the travel platform Booking.com, Hanoi is the most searched destination by Vietnamese people during the National Day holiday (from August 29 to September 3). Previously, in the same period in 2024, Hanoi ranked 7th on this list.

This data is compiled based on domestic destination searches on Booking.com by users in Vietnam between May 1 and June 15, 2025, with check-in dates during the September 2 holiday.

Hanoi's appeal is recognized by all groups of visitors: family travelers, group travelers, couples, and solo travelers.

Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Bui Thanh Tu - BestPrice communications director - said the number of customers booking tours to Hanoi in July increased by about 20% compared to the same period last year. This number is expected to continue to increase in August, in addition, many tourists from neighboring provinces will come to Hanoi by road.

During the national holiday, Hanoi will organize many large-scale activities, most notably the military parade taking place officially on September 2. In addition, on the evening of September 2, Hanoi will organize 5 fireworks displays at Hoan Kiem Lake, Thong Nhat Park, Van Quan Lake, My Dinh National Stadium and West Lake.

According to Ms. Dang Huong Giang - Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism, this year's September 2nd holiday is expected to attract a large number of tourists to the capital. Hanoi's tourism industry has made early preparations to bring memorable experiences to visitors.

Hanoi has directed businesses to improve the quality of products and services, and upgrade degraded and substandard accommodation facilities, especially those in the city center.

"On this occasion, we have built 80 new tours and routes based on the city's historical sites. Tourists coming to the capital will not only visit the central area, but also have experiences in Son Tay and Ba Vi during a 1 to 2 day trip," Ms. Giang shared.

In addition, the city also promotes and mobilizes accommodation facilities so that people and tourists can use the restrooms.

Launching an environmental protection campaign, "out of love for Hanoi and Vietnam, we join hands to protect the environment through actions such as: throwing trash in the right place, limiting the use of plastic products and non-recyclable products," said Ms. Giang.
