The Hanoi People's Committee has just issued Plan No. 229/KH-UBND on implementing legal aid policies for the elderly and elderly people with financial difficulties in the city for the period 2025-2030.

The plan aims to improve the quality and effectiveness of legal aid for the elderly with financial difficulties. In particular, it is necessary to strengthen communication and ensure that 100% of the elderly eligible for legal aid will be provided with free legal services upon request.
Accordingly, every year, the city will review, evaluate and propose directions for improving laws related to legal aid policies for the elderly. Every year, 3-5 training sessions will be organized to improve the capacity of legal aid workers.
Regarding the implementation of legal aid for the elderly and the elderly with financial difficulties, the city requires the implementation of 4 activities with specific contents. In which, activity 1: Communication through newspapers, social networks, and anniversaries. Activity 2: Organizing 30-50 communication sessions/year at the residence and activities of the elderly. Activity 3: Publishing publications (leaflets, bulletin boards, USBs, tapes, etc.). Activity 4: Providing a list and phone numbers of support staff to relevant units, increasing the ability to detect and refer elderly people in need of legal aid.
The city also requires research and selective reference to the experiences of other provinces and cities on legal aid for the elderly and the elderly with financial difficulties. Monitor, guide and inspect the implementation of legal aid policies for the elderly receiving legal aid and related legal documents.
The City People's Committee requested the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City to direct its member organizations to coordinate with departments, branches, sectors, and commune-level People's Committees and relevant units to implement legal aid policies for the elderly and elderly people with financial difficulties.
The Department of Justice shall preside over, monitor, synthesize and report on the implementation of legal aid policies for the elderly and elderly people with financial difficulties.
The Department of Home Affairs reviews and counts the number of elderly people and coordinates to propose solutions to effectively implement the above content.
Commune-level People's Committees coordinate to implement legal aid and refer the elderly to the Legal Aid Center for support.
The City Police, the City People's Procuracy, and the City People's Court closely coordinate in litigation activities related to the above content.
The City Association of the Elderly and the City Elderly Club support and coordinate the implementation of this plan.
The Hanoi City State Legal Aid Center implements specific contents in the plan on implementing legal aid policies for the elderly and elderly people with financial difficulties in the city for the period 2025-2030.
