Winning gold medal at International Olympiad in Informatics, male student awarded 100 million VND

On the morning of August 11, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province held a meeting to honor Le Kien Thanh, a 12th grade IT student at Le Quy Don High School, who just won a gold medal at the 2025 International Olympiad in Informatics.

At the meeting, the leaders of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee awarded a prize of 100 million VND, congratulated and praised Le Kien Thanh's achievements.

Mr. Lam Hai Giang, Vice Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, said that Le Kien Thanh's victory is not only a source of pride for the individual, family, and school, but also a "strong testament" to Vietnamese intelligence and the aspirations of Gia Lai's generation of students.

Mr. Lam Hai Giang affirmed that the province will continue to pay attention to and invest in key education , discover and nurture young talents, and spread the spirit of learning and the desire to contribute to all students.

In response to that sentiment, Le Kien Thanh sent his thanks to the provincial leaders, teachers, family, and friends. "I hope that this medal will inspire other young people to dare to dream and devote themselves to their passion," said Le Kien Thanh.

Also at the ceremony, Mr. Pham Hong Hiep, Secretary of Gia Lai Provincial Youth Union, awarded a certificate of merit to Le Kien Thanh for his outstanding achievements in the 2025 International Olympiad in Informatics.

In recent years, Le Kien Thanh has achieved achievements such as: First prize in provincial and national informatics in 2022 - 2024; First prize in National Youth Informatics 2023; gold medals in ICPC National and ICPC Regional Asia Hanoi 2024; silver medal in Asia - Pacific Informatics Olympiad 2025; IELTS 8.0, 3-good student at provincial level, Ngo May award 2023; gold medal in International Informatics Olympiad 2025.
