On August 21, at the headquarters of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Science and Technology (KH&CN) of Gia Lai province and Quy Nhon University signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation with TORmem Company (USA) in the fields of semiconductors and artificial intelligence (AI).

According to the agreement, TORmem Company will advise and support units of Gia Lai province in receiving and transferring technology, especially in strong areas such as semiconductors, AI and cloud computing.
In the immediate future, TORmem will cooperate with Quy Nhon University to build a modern semiconductor laboratory, both serving research and creating a practical environment for students, contributing to the formation of high-quality human resources to meet market demand.
TORmem also implements human resource training programs, technology transfer on semiconductors and AI, and introduces cloud computing infrastructure solutions focusing on memory - the company's unique strength.
Not only stopping at research and training, TORmem also proposed many breakthrough initiatives for Gia Lai such as building large-scale data centers, developing prototype semiconductor chip factories, and implementing pilot projects (PoC).
The company also committed to cooperating with businesses in the province to develop information technology products, semiconductor industry, and invest in building factories and R&D centers locally.
In parallel with professional activities, TORmem also accompanies Gia Lai province in promoting investment, promoting the image and potential of the information technology industry, especially the semiconductor industry. Through a network of experts, businesses and leading research centers in the US and developed countries, Gia Lai will have the opportunity to connect more deeply with the global flow of innovation.
Also under the cooperation agreement, Quy Nhon University will be responsible for hosting and operating the PoC, piloting, organizing research programs and teaching programs based on the TORmem architecture, and acting as a focal point for academic partnerships across Vietnam.
Meanwhile, the Department of Science and Technology of Gia Lai province will act as the focal point of the province in coordinating with TORmem or the company's partners to deploy and specify the cooperation contents.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan emphasized that the locality is aiming to become a new center for high-tech industry in the region, with priority given to attracting projects in semiconductors, AI, digital technology and big data. Therefore, great attention is paid to cooperation with universities and technology enterprises to train high-quality human resources.
By 2030, Gia Lai will focus on four pillars: developing the semiconductor and AI industry; ensuring network safety and security; training human resources and developing STEM education; and building a concentrated information technology park.
The Chairman of Gia Lai province highly appreciated TORmem's capacity and said that the enterprise's move was completely consistent with the Government and the province's policy of breakthrough in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.
At the same time, we commit to accompany and create the most favorable conditions for investors in the high-tech sector, considering this a breakthrough driving force to help Gia Lai make a breakthrough in the coming period.
