* Pig prices in the North increased by 1,000 - 3,000 VND/kg last week.
In particular, localities including Yen Bai, Thai Nguyen and Tuyen Quang all increased by 2,000 VND/kg to 51,000 - 52,000 VND/kg.
52,000 VND/kg and 53,000 VND/kg are the transaction prices in Vinh Phuc and Thai Binh after increasing by 1,000 VND/kg.
Except for Hung Yen province, which remained unchanged, the remaining localities adjusted the price up by VND 3,000/kg to VND 51,000 - 53,000/kg.
Today's live pig price in the North is around 51,000 - 53,000 VND/kg.
* The live pig market in the Central and Central Highlands regions increased by 2,000 - 5,000 VND/kg last week.
Specifically, Binh Thuan province increased by 5,000 VND/kg to 52,000 VND/kg.
Thanh Hoa province traded at 52,000 VND/kg after adjusting up 4,000 VND/kg.
The remaining localities adjusted the price up by 2,000 - 3,000 VND/kg to between 50,000 - 52,000 VND/kg.

* Pig prices in the South increased by the highest 4,000 VND/kg last week.

* According to preliminary statistics of the General Department of Customs, the country's animal feed export turnover in the first 9 months of 2023 reached 894.65 million USD, an increase of 3.8% compared to the first 9 months of 2022; of which September 2023 alone reached 102.26 million USD, a decrease of 26.8% compared to August 2023 but an increase of 43.5% compared to September 2022.
Animal feed exports to the Chinese market - the largest market, in September 2023 decreased by 40.5% compared to August 2023 but increased sharply by 92.6% compared to September 2022, reaching over 46 million USD. In total, the export turnover to this market in the first 9 months of 2023 reached 435.84 million USD, a sharp increase of 30% over the same period in 2022, accounting for 48.7% of the total export turnover of this group of goods nationwide.
Animal feed exports to the Cambodian market - the second largest market - increased by 8.5% over the same period, reaching 133.1 million USD, accounting for 14.9% of the total turnover; in September 2023 alone, it increased by 4.1% compared to August 2023 and increased by 38.1% compared to September 2022, reaching 16.07 million USD.
The Malaysian market ranked third in terms of turnover, reaching 86.26 million USD, up 33.6% over the same period; in September 2023 alone, animal feed exports to this market decreased by 7.4% compared to August 2023 but increased sharply by 39.8% compared to September 2022, reaching 11.44 million USD.
