Nearly 94 billion VND to build embankment to prevent landslides on Thach Han river bank

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung has just signed a decision approving the plan to select a contractor for the project to urgently repair landslides on the banks of the Thach Han River through Quang Tri town and Trieu Phong district.

Accordingly, there are 17 bidding packages to carry out works related to the construction and installation of embankments to prevent landslides on the banks of the Thach Han River through Hai Le Commune, Ward 1, An Don Ward (Quang Tri Town); communes: Trieu Long, Trieu Giang, Trieu Do, Trieu Thuan and Ai Tu Town (Trieu Phong District) with a total length of about 5.21 km; the total value of the bidding packages is nearly 94 billion VND from the central budget reserve fund in 2023 to support overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and landslides.

The Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board is responsible for organizing the selection of contractors according to the approved plan, ensuring compliance with current regulations.

The investment in the construction of the embankment section through Quang Tri town and Trieu Phong district aims to promptly overcome the situation of riverbank erosion, protect the lives and property of people as well as public transport works, cultivated land on both banks of Thach Han river in synchronous combination with technical infrastructure works and urban embellishment, adapt to climate change, stabilize and improve the living conditions of people in the project area.
