Nearly 400 players participate in the 11th Hanoi Moi Newspaper Cup Table Tennis Tournament

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the tournament, Editor-in-Chief of Hanoi Moi Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament, journalist Nguyen Minh Duc said that the Hanoi Moi Newspaper Open Table Tennis Tournament was established in 2012. Up to now, the Tournament has proven to be a prestigious playground, one of the typical examples of the socialized sports movement of the Capital.

The fact that nearly 400 professional and amateur players from 68 units from provinces and cities... participated in this year's tournament has affirmed that the organization of the Hanoi Moi Newspaper Table Tennis Tournament is increasingly meeting the desire to enjoy eye-catching matches of table tennis fans as well as the need for competition and competition of professional and amateur athletes.

"This year's tournament has seen remarkable growth, reflected in the number of athletes participating in the tournament increasing by about 30% compared to last season. In order to increase the attractiveness of the tournament, we have also decided to increase the prize value to 150 million VND, an increase of more than 20% compared to last season," said Editor-in-Chief of Hanoi Moi Newspaper and Head of the tournament organizing committee Nguyen Minh Duc.

Taking place at Trinh Hoai Duc Gymnasium (Hanoi) from November 7 to 10, 2024, this year's Hanoi Moi Newspaper Cup Table Tennis Tournament will have athletes competing in 12 events: Men's singles with leaders, advanced men's teams, amateur men's teams, advanced men's singles, amateur men's singles from 45 years old and above, amateur men's singles under 45 years old, women's singles from 45 years old and above, women's singles under 45 years old, men's doubles with leaders (paired to different units), mixed doubles over 45 years old (regardless of rank, paired to different units), mixed doubles under 45 years old (regardless of rank, paired to different units), women's doubles over 45 years old (regardless of rank, paired to different units).
