On June 1, 2024, the Prime Minister issued Official Dispatch No. 55 on mobilizing local resources to ensure logistics and increase support for the construction of the 500kV line 3 from Quang Trach (Quang Binh province) to Pho Noi (Hung Yen province), striving to complete before June 30. This is a key project, ensuring energy security, contributing to improving the transmission capacity of the national power system, urgently supplying electricity to the North in the coming years.

The 500kV Line 3 Quang Trach - Pho Noi project has 1,177 pole locations and a line length of 513 km, crossing many terrains from mountainous to plain areas including 9 provinces of Quang Binh, Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Hai Duong, Hung Yen with a total investment of nearly 1 billion USD. The 500kV line stretching from North to South has built circuit 1 and circuit 2, so closing all 3 circuits of the line will increase the power transmission capacity from the South, Central to the North, contributing to ensuring the power supply and safety of the national power system.

Director of Quang Tri Power Company (PC Quang Tri) Phan Van Vinh said: “To implement the Prime Minister's telegram requiring the project to "finish" before June 30, 2024, the support and cooperation of local authorities as well as units under EVN are very much needed. Therefore, together with many other units across the country, PC Quang Tri has mobilized 38 officers, workers, and technical staff to form a special team to join the "army" to build the 500kV line 3.

The secondment team consists of young workers and engineers with high expertise and experience, who love their jobs and are full of enthusiasm for their work. Therefore, I hope that the entire team will be highly focused, promote their capacity and experience, comply with procedures and regulations, and seriously carry out assigned tasks as assigned by the Shock Team to support the construction of the 500kV Line 3 Project from Quang Trach to Pho Noi established by the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC), ensuring safe construction and maintaining good health to successfully complete the assigned tasks."

With the huge demand for human resources of the 500kV Line 3 Project from Quang Trach to Pho Noi, not only Quang Tri PC sent a special team to support, but many power companies under many power corporations across the country also simultaneously "deployed", EVNCPC alone mobilized a force of more than 200 people. Because this is the peak phase of the project, all work needs to be urgent, urgent but always ensure safety.

On the morning of June 4, exactly one week after the PC Quang Tri special team supported the construction of the national key project, we "connected" with engineer Nguyen Hai Nam, Team Leader of the Quang Tri High Voltage Grid Operation Management Team, who is the Team Leader of the special team.

From the construction site on a high hill in Duc Lang commune, Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh province, engineer Nguyen Hai Nam said that currently, the PC Quang Tri special team is assigned to construct 2 high-voltage power poles, each pole is 80m high, weighing 160 tons, but because the materials and equipment must be imported from abroad, they are not fully guaranteed for construction.

However, with the efforts of the entire team, the team is currently focusing on constructing the first column, only able to build the foundation with more than 10 tons of steel out of a total of 320 tons of steel/column. When asked about the difficulties encountered, engineer Nguyen Hai Nam shared: “When we arrived in Ha Tinh, all the brothers immediately started working.

The construction site is a high hill, about 7 km from the residential area. The weather is extremely hot and sunny, but there are often thunderstorms in the afternoon, making it difficult to travel and gather materials and equipment due to slippery roads. To ensure the health of our brothers and the safety of the work, we set up a camp at the site to organize the construction. Most of us were constructing high-voltage power poles for the first time, although we were a bit bewildered, we quickly adapted.

To be honest, this job is not unfamiliar but it is new because of the larger scale. Technically, we already have detailed drawings so there are no difficulties, just confusion due to the larger volume. Therefore, we are always highly determined and will try our best to overcome difficulties, coordinate with other units to complete the work in the shortest time, with the best quality and ensure the safety of the project.

We know that the job of an electrician, especially a lineman, is always difficult and arduous. However, the electricians at PC Quang Tri are always dedicated and proud of their work. One advantage is that the members of the special team are mostly young, healthy, skilled and dedicated. Once joining the special team, everyone understands that the 500kV Line Project is the lifeblood of the country. Therefore, being able to contribute to the 500kV Line Project, Circuit 3, Quang Trach - Pho Noi to complete all 3 circuits of the 500kV line throughout the entire territory of Vietnam is a great honor.

With that awareness, the members of the special task force worked enthusiastically on the construction site, contributing their efforts to complete the project on schedule, aiming to improve the ability to transmit electricity from the Central region to the North, ensuring stable and continuous electricity supply for production, business and daily life activities of the people, especially enhancing national energy security in the context of continuously increasing demand for electricity.
