DNVN - Speaking at the meeting between General Secretary and President To Lam and a delegation of outstanding businessmen, Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh - Chairman of CMC Technology Group expressed his pride: private businessmen are pioneers in applying new technologies. From there, creating development momentum for the entire economy.
Speaking at the meeting between General Secretary and President To Lam and a delegation of outstanding businessmen from the Vietnam Private Entrepreneurs Association and the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) on the afternoon of October 11, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Trong Dieu - Chairman of the Vietnam Private Entrepreneurs Association said that after 40 years of implementing the Doi Moi process, we now have more than 930,000 operating enterprises. Of which, 98% are small and medium-sized enterprises, about 14,400 cooperatives and more than 5 million business households.
In 2023, the private economic sector will contribute about 60% of GDP, generate about 30% of state budget revenue, and attract 85% of the workforce. In addition to its role as an important driving force of the country's economy, the private economic sector will also actively contribute to effectively implementing the Party and State's policies on social security, preserving traditional cultural identity, overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and epidemics, and caring for the material and spiritual life of the people.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trong Dieu - Chairman of Vietnam Private Entrepreneurs Association spoke at the meeting.
“The private economic sector has seen the emergence of a number of large corporations with strong potential, advanced technology and management capacity, national brands and international prestige, and the courage to compete regionally and internationally,” said Mr. Dieu.
At the event, Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh - Chairman of CMC Technology Group, Vice Chairman of Vietnam Private Entrepreneurs Association, emphasized the importance of digital transformation for the development of enterprises and the national economy. Accordingly, Vietnam is entering a special period with great changes in technology. Digital transformation and artificial intelligence are not only trends but have become urgent requirements for businesses to survive and develop.
“Digital transformation is not just about applying technology, but is essentially a comprehensive revolution to change institutions so that production relations can catch up with digital production forces. To achieve this, we need not only the support of the Government, but also the initiative and creativity of the business community, especially the private sector.
Private entrepreneurs are pioneers in applying technology, improving production processes and promoting innovation in business, creating development momentum for the entire economy," Mr. Chinh emphasized.
In his speech, the Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Private Entrepreneurs made six specific recommendations to the General Secretary, the President and leaders at all levels to promote digital transformation and artificial intelligence in Vietnam. These include the need for comprehensive support policies for businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, to help them seize opportunities from new technologies; focusing on in-depth training in digital skills and artificial intelligence; and institutional innovation to suit the digital economy.
At the same time, financial support and technological cooperation: Increase access to capital and financial support for innovation projects, while promoting cooperation between businesses and research organizations; trust and assign responsibilities to private enterprises; encourage corporate social responsibility.
