Vietnamese enterprises and entrepreneurs, including Dong Nai, are striving to adapt to the development trend. Continuously innovating and learning to upgrade production and business capacity, and linking for development is the path that enterprises are taking.

Measure of national strength

Vietnam currently has nearly 1 million operating enterprises, about 14,400 cooperatives and more than 5 million business households with the potential to develop into enterprises in the future.

Identifying large enterprises as playing an important role, being the core leading the development of industries and the whole economy, the 13th National Party Congress emphasized the task of "encouraging the formation and development of large private economic groups with strong potential and the ability to compete regionally and internationally". Vietnamese enterprises and entrepreneurs are present in almost all production and business sectors. Not only domestically, many enterprises have affirmed their brand value reaching the regional and world level, contributing to enhancing Vietnam's position in the international arena such as: Viettel, PVN, Vingroup, FPT, Thaco, Hoa Phat, TH, Vinamilk... Vietnam has also become a major import and export partner of many countries with strong economies in the world.

In March 2025, the Government established a Steering Committee to develop a Private Economic Development Project headed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. Accordingly, the Government, ministries and sectors are urgently developing the project to submit to the Politburo for early promulgation. This is the basis for promoting the strong development of the private economy as well as the Vietnamese business community in the coming time.

According to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, the Vietnamese business community and enterprises have grown strongly in both quantity and quality; present in most industries and fields and demonstrating responsibility to the community and society. Some enterprises have developed to regional and world level, contributing to enhancing Vietnam's position and prestige in the international arena.

Along with the whole country, the business community and enterprises of Dong Nai are also growing stronger. Accumulated from 1991 to the end of 2024, the whole province has more than 56 thousand enterprises registered to operate on the National Registration Portal. Many enterprises originating from Dong Nai have gradually risen to become strong economic groups in the country. Along with attracting enterprises with foreign direct investment (FDI), Dong Nai has also issued many policies to promote the business community, especially small and medium enterprises and private enterprises to develop. 5 years ago (2020), Dong Nai built a Project to Support Small and Medium Enterprises of the province. Dong Nai's goal is to synchronously and effectively implement support policies of the Government and localities to improve the competitiveness of enterprises in the area. Thereby, promoting the internal strength of enterprises, promoting development in quantity and quality, contributing to promoting economic growth, and creating jobs for people in the province.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Minh Dung said that Dong Nai's consistent viewpoint is to value the role of enterprises and entrepreneurs in the development of the locality. The success of the business community is also the success of the locality. Dong Nai will have solutions to attract enterprises to increase investment in the field of modern technology, technology of the future for sustainable development and improved competitiveness.

Overcome limitations to grow stronger

Although there has been a strong development towards the milestone of 1 million enterprises and there are also strong corporations reaching out to the world, the Vietnamese economy is still basically a manufacturing industry, not touching much on automation and digitalization. Vietnamese enterprises have not really created industrial links between the domestic and the world, and have not really led the industrial chain of FDI enterprises in Vietnam.

Chairman of Dong Nai Business Federation Dang Van Diem hopes that the locality will have more mechanisms and policies for businesses to access effective support services such as: human resource training, updating the legal system, administrative procedures, land, capital... At the same time, create conditions for businesses in the province to participate in local projects and works; connect with domestic and foreign businesses to seek cooperation and development.

Director of Tuong Lai Company Limited (Long Thanh District) Truong Quoc Cuong shared that in order to participate and integrate with the world, enterprises cannot maintain the old production mindset, but must continuously innovate, renew and invest to meet the standards set by partners. To "grow up", enterprises must boldly innovate themselves, but in that process, the efforts of enterprises alone are not enough, but need a long-term strategy from the management agency to have appropriate support policies.

Similarly, with Hung Vuong Construction Company Limited, thanks to investing in improving product quality with advanced machinery and technology, the company's products have become well-known in the region. In particular, the company's important step in 2024 is the inauguration of a factory producing prestressed steel-bore concrete water pipes using American technology at the factory in Thanh Phu Industrial Park (Vinh Cuu district) with an investment capital of 300 billion VND. This is the first factory in Vietnam specializing in the production of prestressed steel-bore concrete water pipes with diameters from 1,000 mm to 6,000 mm.

According to Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hung Vuong Construction Company Limited, Dinh Cong Tuan, the company has had 32 years of development with more than 2,000 officers and employees. The company was honored to receive the First Class Labor Medal. The application of new technology in production has helped Hung Vuong improve productivity, product quality and reduce costs. The company is committed to providing products that meet international standards, ensuring efficiency, sustainability and environmental friendliness.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Thanh Thanh Cong Group Dang Van Thanh shared that, regarding the mindset of enterprises in the new era, the State has spent a lot of time perfecting the legal system, which is not only suitable but also compatible with the integration process of the Vietnamese economy. The generation of entrepreneurs, especially young entrepreneurs today, have many conditions to integrate into the international economy. The world is also in the digital age, so enterprises need to attach importance to management and operation based on technology and engineering. To grow, enterprises build a clear roadmap and strategy for development, gradually manage, control and operate professionally, as well as summarize valuable experiences for themselves.
