This afternoon, February 17, a working delegation of the Ministry of Public Security led by Colonel Nguyen Thanh Binh, Deputy Director of the Department of Building the Homeland Security Movement (V05) worked with Cam Lo district, Quang Tri province on security and order criteria in building advanced new rural areas (NTM) in 2024.

In recent times, Cam Lo District Police have done a good job of advising the District Party Committee and the District People's Committee to effectively implement the security and order criteria in building advanced new rural areas. The District Police and communes and towns have effectively organized and implemented the movement of the entire people to protect national security in conjunction with implementing security and order criteria and targets, contributing to stabilizing the political security situation and social order and safety in rural areas. By the end of 2024, 6/7 communes were recognized by the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee as meeting advanced new rural standards; the advanced new rural district met 4/5 criteria.

At the meeting, Cam Lo district raised a number of difficulties and obstacles in implementing the security and order criteria to build an advanced new-style rural district, such as citizens committing crimes who are from outside the area; some cases stem from objective and spontaneous causes...

After the members of the working delegation gave additional comments to the report, pointed out the limitations and guided the district to complete the dossier of security and order criteria in building the district to meet the advanced new rural standards in 2024, Colonel Nguyen Thanh Binh acknowledged and highly appreciated the results of implementing the security and order criteria in building advanced new rural areas in Cam Lo district.

At the same time, it is agreed to collect data from February 2024 to February 2025 to include in the report on the recognition application. The report needs to clearly supplement data on population, ethnicity, religion; models in the movement to protect national security... so that the council can have a comprehensive and convincing assessment of the results achieved by the locality in the field of security and order, and soon submit to the Prime Minister to recognize Cam Lo district as meeting the advanced NTM standards in 2024.

Colonel Nguyen Thanh Binh also suggested that in the coming time, the police forces at all levels in the district need to be more proactive in detecting from a distance, early and effectively resolving arising issues related to security and order; improve the quality and efficiency of operations for forces participating in protecting security and order at the grassroots level; continue to do a good job of advising local Party committees and authorities to pay attention to properly implementing the regulations and instructions of the Ministry of Public Security on security and order criteria in building advanced new rural areas, contributing to the successful implementation of the National Target Program on building new rural areas nationwide.
