After the merger, the whole province had over 2,700 people exposed to Agent Orange, of which more than 1,700 were direct victims and their children were affected.

Mr. Tran Dinh Dung in Ban Lau commune is a veteran and a victim of Agent Orange. In 1972, he joined the army to fight in the Central Highlands. On the day of his discharge, Mr. Dung returned to his hometown with many wounds and after-effects from Agent Orange. Mr. Dung and his wife have two children. Although they are not as healthy as normal people, under the care of their grandparents, Mr. Dung's children have now all grown up and are strong enough to support their own families.
Mr. Dung shared: After returning from the war, I received attention and encouragement from neighbors, authorities, and all levels of the Association for Victims of Agent Orange. In November 2024, the Provincial Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin supported 50 million VND to help my family build a new house of 60 square meters .

Similarly, Mr. Tran Duc Long, Gia Phu commune, was also exposed to Agent Orange while participating in the resistance war in the southern battlefield. Mr. Long and his wife had two children but they both died. No longer healthy enough to work, and in difficult circumstances, the couple lived in a dilapidated and severely damaged house. With the attention of the Party Committee, the government, the Fatherland Front at all levels and the association, Mr. Long's family was supported with funds to repair and upgrade the house, helping the couple feel more secure and motivated to overcome difficulties in life.
Not only Mr. Dung and Mr. Long, with the function of gathering, uniting, and helping each other, the Provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin regularly cares for and improves the material and spiritual lives of Agent Orange victims.
In particular, when victims are eligible, the Provincial Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims will guide the process of completing the necessary documents to enjoy the regime and policies; regularly discuss with local agencies and authorities in handling and resolving the regimes and policies for members.
As a result, 100% of members in the province have enjoyed monthly preferential subsidies from the State. Up to now, 100% of Agent Orange victims in the province have been granted health insurance cards; annual nursing and rehabilitation are guaranteed. The Association also organized to welcome 3 victims in a family (belonging to the 2nd generation) to the Provincial Social Work Center for long-term care and nurturing...

In addition, the Provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin regularly coordinates with the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee to call on units and socio-political organizations inside and outside the province to support money and materials to support and help victims of Agent Orange.
In recent years, the provincial Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims has organized visits and given gifts on holidays, Tet, and August 10 to victims with money and material worth nearly 6 billion VND; supported the construction of 68 new houses worth 2 billion 720 million VND; supported livelihoods and production capital of 330 million VND; supported free medical treatment for victims with a total cost of 454 million VND.
Over the past time, Agent Orange victims have received a lot of sharing and support from the community, which has contributed to compensating for losses and disadvantages, bringing joy, supporting members and victims to overcome difficulties, improve their lives, and integrate into the community.
In the coming time, to do better in helping and caring for victims of Agent Orange, the Provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin will continue to thoroughly grasp and advise the Party Committee and the government to direct the good implementation of Directive 43-CT/TW dated May 14, 2015 of the Central Party Secretariat on overcoming the consequences of toxic chemicals in the area, along with other directives of the Party and State on victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin.
At the same time, seek support and create favorable conditions from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, departments, branches, organizations, and mass organizations to effectively perform the functions and tasks of the Association, contributing to strengthening the great national unity bloc, ensuring national defense, security, and socio -economic development in the locality; maintain the emulation movements of the Association well in conjunction with local emulation movements; focus on building and consolidating a strong Association organization; take care to build and improve the quality of the Association's staff at all levels.
