The minimum scores for many majors at VNU University of Medicine and Pharmacy are higher than those of the Ministry of Education and Training.

This afternoon, July 23, Hanoi National University of Medicine and Pharmacy (VNU Medicine and Pharmacy) has just announced the threshold to ensure input quality (base score to receive applications) with the admission method based on high school graduation exam scores.

Accordingly, the floor score of VNU University of Medicine and Pharmacy has some majors higher than the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training on the floor score of the health majors.

Specifically as follows:

This is the score for receiving application documents for candidates in region 3 with the minimum score (without coefficient) of all combinations of 3 exams/subjects, not counting bonus points, regardless of the exam results of candidates studying the program in 2006 and 2018.

Thus, for the majors of medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy, the floor score of VNU University of Medicine and Pharmacy is equal to the floor score prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training for the corresponding majors. For the majors of medical laboratory technology, medical imaging technology, and nursing, the floor score of VNU University of Medicine and Pharmacy is 2 points higher than the floor score prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training for the corresponding majors.

But 19 points is also the minimum score that Hanoi National University sets for all its affiliated training institutions.

This year, VNU University of Medicine and Pharmacy recruits 720 students, according to many methods: considering the results of the high school graduation exam; direct admission, priority direct admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; special admission for students who have won provincial-level excellent student awards, special admission for students participating in the Hanoi National University Olympic exam; based on the HSA assessment score of Hanoi National University; considering candidates with foreign language certificates (IELTS); considering university preparatory programs.

The school will announce the rules for converting equivalent floor scores and benchmark scores between groups and admission methods after Hanoi National University has regulations.
