The organizing committee checks the preparations for the Festival for Peace.

At 8:00 p.m. on July 6, the 2024 Peace Festival will open on the south bank of the Hien Luong-Ben Hai River National Historical Site, Quang Tri province.

The Festival for Peace was held for the first time on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the signing of the Geneva Agreement ending the war and restoring peace in Indochina and Vietnam (July 21, 1954 - July 21, 2024), the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024), towards the 50th anniversary of the complete Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

The festival has the theme “Joining hands to build a peaceful world”. Throughout the festival are rich, diverse and attractive programs, reflecting traditional and contemporary cultures of national and international significance.

This is also a national and international cultural, sports and tourism event and activity in the 2024-2025 period according to Decision No. 3032/QD-BVHTTDL dated October 16, 2023 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The 2024 Festival for Peace will be a living testament to that aspiration, as Quang Tri welcomes international friends, together building a future of peace, solidarity and development, turning the painful past into a strong driving force for new steps forward.

Along with the gratitude and memorial activities, the festival program is designed with many cultural, artistic, musical, entertainment, sports and culinary activities held in many different spaces, with many different levels, targeting many different audiences, especially young people.

Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Quang Tri Nguyen Hoan, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the 2024 Peace Festival, said that the festival will open on the evening of July 6, 2024, at the Hien Luong-Ben Hai Special National Monument with a series of meaningful activities and unique art programs with the hope that the festival's mark will create emotional highlights "bringing the world of peace to Quang Tri" - the land that has become a symbol of the desire for peace, healing and revival. The artistic idea of ​​the program is emotional touches connecting the past and the future, conveying the spirit of proactive integration of Quang Tri.

The special art program with the theme “Connecting the rhythms of time” is built in a complex art form, “dramatizing” the story of peace through layers of scenes and storytelling through music with the participation of many famous singers and artists in the Vietnamese entertainment industry today.

The opening night will feature a music stage that combines multidimensional space, creating a multi-touch art program in a performance space, with the highlight being the performance of a large number of drones. The opening program will end with an artistic fireworks display.

Through the animated performances, viewers can better understand the ever-existing aspiration for peace, which is the absolute value and solid foundation for creating miracles.

Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam, Head of the Organizing Committee of the 2024 Peace Festival, emphasized that preparations for the festival have been completed in the most detailed and complete manner. The most important highlight is the opening ceremony program, hoping to convey the message of a new perspective, that peace is not only a state of no conflict and by extension, peace is love between individuals and the community; peace is a song of joy, happiness, and the simple things in life... A peaceful world requires everyone to be united, ready to work together to overcome geographical, cultural and religious boundaries to build a world full of love and justice.

In conjunction with the Peace Festival, the public will also be able to participate in many special music exchange programs throughout the festival...

Notably, the Organizing Committee has invited many countries to agree to send art troupes to attend the festival, including many world-famous artists from Korea, Japan and the United States.

The Festival for Peace will be organized in an “open” way, with only a start date and no… closing date. This is also the way Quang Tri province sends a message: At any time, the public can come and enjoy the festival atmosphere, the atmosphere for peace in Quang Tri. The biggest goal of the Festival for Peace is to promote the image of Quang Tri on the world tourism map, creating a great attraction for Quang Tri tourism to develop with many different types of tourists and different interests coming to Quang Tri.

Main activities taking place at the Festival for Peace:

8:00 p.m., July 6: The opening night of the festival will feature a special art program taking place at the Hien Luong-Ben Hai National Historical Site, with the theme "Connecting Bridges".

The program features many famous domestic and international artists; with a music stage, a multi-space combination of onshore and under-river scenes, connecting the north-south axis of the historic Hien Luong Bridge across the Ben Hai River. The artistic concept of the program is emotional touches connecting the past and the future, conveying the spirit of proactive integration of Quang Tri.

The opening of the Festival for Peace will have a fireworks display at the end of the program.

July 12-14: Cultural-Culinary Festival "Taste of the sunny flower land" at Cua Viet Service-Tourism Area, Gio Linh district, with a scale of 100 booths, gathering typical dishes of the culinary culture of 3 regions of Vietnam and internationally.

8:00 p.m., July 13: The Music Exchange Program "Melody of Peace" - Trinh Cong Son's music night will take place at Fidel Park in Dong Ha city with the participation of many famous singers and artists such as Cam Van, Hong Nhung, Duc Tuan, Quang Dung, Tan Son, Tran Manh Tuan, An Tran, Kyo York, Jmi ko...

8:00 p.m., July 19: Political art program organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper in coordination with Quang Tri province with the theme "Parallel 17 - Aspiration for Peace".

July 20: The International Music Exchange Program “Melody of Peace” at the Quang Tri Province Cultural-Cinema Center will feature artists from the following countries: Korea, Japan, the United States, China, France, Australia, Cuba, the Philippines, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam.

This is a unique concert program, bringing to the audience a musical experience that conveys the power of love, connecting people with people, is the highlight activity of the Festival, and is also the first large-scale international music exchange program in Quang Tri.

The program will end with a collective dance performance "Dance of Peace" with the participation of all artists from countries, guest delegates, and tourists participating in the program, creating cohesion and harmony in a common aspiration for sustainable peace.

8:00 p.m., July 26: The "Peace Wish" program took place at the Flower Wharf on the North Bank of Thach Han River, Quang Tri Ancient Citadel National Monument with activities such as: Flower offering ceremony, incense offering, flower lantern releasing, praying. In particular, the bell ringing for peace took place simultaneously with gratitude activities at all cemeteries, memorial steles, and churches of heroic martyrs.
