Hai Phong calls on 1,476 ships and boats to take shelter safely before storm No. 5

Localities and units have coordinated to count and notify 1,609 vehicles, 164 rafts, and 3 watchtowers that are operating and anchored about the developments of storm No. 5 so that they can proactively take precautions.

According to a quick report from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Hai Phong, due to good propaganda work and proactive implementation of measures to prevent storm No. 5, by 3:00 p.m. on August 24, localities and units had coordinated to count and notify 1,609 vehicles (4,493 workers), 164 cages, 3 watchtowers operating and anchored about the storm's developments so that they could proactively take precautions.

Of which, 1,476 ships and boats (3,865 workers) were called to anchor and take shelter safely. Currently, 133 vehicles are still operating. Units and localities continue to notify and call on vehicles to promptly come ashore for safe shelter.

By late afternoon on August 24, 1,983 tourists in Cat Ba and 580 tourists in Do Son ward were in safe shelters.
