World Heritage Complex of Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac Monuments and Landscapes - outstanding global values

The Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac Complex of Monuments and Landscapes reflects the story of the formation and sustainable continuation of the Truc Lam Buddhist heritage, a unique Zen sect of Vietnam founded by Tran kings, royal families and eminent monks in the context of global turmoil in the 13th century. Originating from the sacred Yen Tu mountain range, Truc Lam Buddhism combined Mahayana Buddhist teachings with Confucian ethics, Taoist cosmology and indigenous beliefs of Vietnam, forming a distinct ideology and spiritual tradition.
