This year, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics (UEH) has introduced a conversion tool equivalent to the admission score according to the methods to serve candidates applying to the school. Candidates access the school's electronic information page, enter data according to the instructions to see the total admission score according to each method, the bonus points and priority points.
This tool helps calculate the admission scores of candidates according to 3 methods: admission of candidates with good academic results; admission based on the results of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment test combined with English proficiency; admission based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam combined with English proficiency. In each method, the tool calculates the admission scores for each program and training institution differently.
Depending on the method, candidates enter the actual score into the tool according to the admission methods to produce the converted score equivalent to the high school graduation exam score. For example, the admission method with good academic results, candidates enter the average score according to the subject group; other criteria: international English certificate, awards achieved, excellent high school students, students of specialized/gifted schools; select information on priority subjects and regions. Based on the entered data, the tool tells candidates the total admission score achieved after conversion, as well as each component score: including the average score of the 3-year combination (before conversion), the converted score equivalent to the high school graduation exam score, bonus points, priority points (if any).
With the method of considering the 2025 high school graduation exam scores combined with English proficiency, the tool calculates the total admission score after converting the score according to the coefficient and the bonus point level of the foreign language certificate according to regulations. For example, a candidate with a total score of 3 subjects in the A00 group (math-physics-chemistry) of 23 points (coefficient 1 for all subjects), with an IELTS certificate in the range of 7.0-9.0, students in region 2-rural areas will have a total admission score of 24.87. Including 1.5 bonus points from the international English certificate and 0.37 bonus points from the priority area.
However, this total admission score is only the score of each candidate after performing the conversion steps according to regulations, not the admission standard score. Previously, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics announced the framework for converting equivalent admission scores between regular university admission methods in 2025.

In 2025, the minimum score for training programs of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics (HCMC campus) will be 702 points with the admission method based on the results of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam combined with English proficiency; 22 points with the admission method based on candidates with good academic results; 20 points with the admission method based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam combined with English proficiency.
A representative of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics said that they have received a large number of applications and predict that the benchmark scores will fluctuate up/down within 1 point depending on the training program.
