(NLDO)-The elevated road project along National Highway 51 from Vung Tau intersection to Gate 11 includes 3 items with a total investment of more than 12,800 billion VND.

On January 2, during a working session with the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, a representative of Ho Chi Minh City Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company proposed that the elevated road project along National Highway 51 from Vung Tau intersection to Gate 11 includes 3 completed construction items including the Vung Tau intersection; construction of a direct overpass on National Highway 1, Bien Hoa City bypass section, and construction of an elevated road along National Highway 51.

Perspective of Vung Tau Crossroads Intersection

The project is invested in the form of public-private partnership (PPP) with a total investment of more than 12,800 billion VND.

For the construction of the elevated road along National Highway 51, the length is about 5.5km. The starting point of the road is at the Vung Tau intersection and the end point is at the Gate 11 intersection. The elevated road is built according to the standards of urban main roads, with a design speed of 80km/h and a scale of 6 lanes.

Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc assessed that the investment to complete the two intersections of Vung Tau and Gate 11 is very necessary and urgent because the traffic volume on National Highway 51 is very large, causing frequent traffic jams. Meanwhile, in 2026, when the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway is put into operation, the traffic volume at these two intersections will be even larger.

The Provincial People's Committee has also sent a document to the Ministry of Transport regarding investment in completing the two intersections of Vung Tau and Gate 11, but the Ministry said it has not yet arranged capital for the project until 2030.

Currently, the provincial budget is focusing on investing in highways and beltways with the central government, so it is very difficult. Therefore, the province welcomes the proposal of Ho Chi Minh City Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company to implement the project under the PPP form.

Provincial leaders pointed out that the proposed project investment still encountered legal problems and assigned the Department of Transport to arrange a working schedule between provincial leaders and the Ministry of Transport to resolve legal difficulties and problems.

The Department of Construction coordinates with the Department of Transport and Bien Hoa City to update the scale of the two intersections Vung Tau Intersection and Gate 11 into the planning, the Gate 11 intersection is updated according to the scale of the completion stage. Bien Hoa City updates the general planning project of the elevated road along National Highway 51.
