On the afternoon of July 10, the Council for assessing communes meeting new rural standards (NTM), advanced NTM, and model NTM in Thanh Hoa province held a conference to assess communes meeting new rural standards, advanced NTM, and model NTM, phase 3, 2024.

Comrade Le Duc Giang, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Council chaired the conference. Also attending were representatives of leaders of relevant departments, branches, sectors and units who are members of the Council.

At the conference, the representative of the Office of the Coordination of the New Rural Construction Program presented a report on the results of document appraisal, on-site inspection, assessment, confirmation, proposal for consideration and recognition of 9 communes meeting advanced new rural standards and model new rural standards in 4 districts of Thieu Hoa, Yen Dinh, Trieu Son, and Nga Son.

In addition, members of the Appraisal Council reviewed the documents, assessed the advantages, disadvantages, and contents that the communes needed to complete for each criterion.

Deputy Chief of Office of the National Target Program on New Rural Development, Duong Van Giang province, reported on the implementation results of the criteria of the communes.

Based on previous analysis and field inspections, 100% of council members voted to recommend recognizing 7 communes as meeting advanced NTM standards, including: Thieu Ly, Yen Thai, Dinh Hai, Dinh Tang, Hop Thanh, Hop Ly and Tien Nong. 2 communes proposed to be assessed as meeting model NTM standards are Nga An and Dinh Hung.

Concluding the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Giang acknowledged the efforts of the Provincial New Rural Area Coordination Office, member departments, branches, localities and people in preparing and implementing the criteria for building new rural areas, advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas.

Most of the communes included in this round of review have completely resolved the "criteria debt" situation; average income and people's satisfaction are high, and the poverty rate is low.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the process of building new rural areas needs support and unity, aiming at the ultimate goal of serving the people. Therefore, in the coming time, the Office of the New Rural Construction Program Coordination, departments, branches and localities will discuss, point out difficulties and obstacles and orient solutions to ensure the completion of goals and targets in building new rural areas.

For communes that have just been considered to meet the standards, he requested the Provincial New Rural Area Coordination Office to complete the documents and submit them to the Provincial People's Committee Chairman for recognition.
