Proposal to convert 5.4 hectares of forest land to continue construction of the Hai Duong-Quang Ninh connecting road

On the morning of November 13, at the 27th Session, the People's Council of Hai Duong province will consider the decision on the policy of changing the purpose of forest use to another purpose to implement the project of building a road connecting Provincial Road 398B (Hai Duong province) with Provincial Road 345 (Quang Ninh province) in Chi Linh city.

The total area that the People's Committee of Hai Duong province proposed to change the purpose of forest use to another purpose is nearly 5.4 hectares in Dong Chau village, Hoang Hoa Tham commune (Chi Linh city), including 3.42 hectares of protective forest, originating from natural forest and nearly 2 hectares of production forest. These forests are tea, chestnut, acacia, eucalyptus, bamboo, fruit trees...

The project to build a road connecting provincial road 398B with provincial road 345 has a total length of 2.34 km. The starting point of the route intersects with provincial road 398B at km11, the end point is at Deo Tre (also known as Doc Dat), the border between the two provinces, in Hoang Hoa Tham commune (Chi Linh). The project is invested by the Hai Duong Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board.

The project, when completed, will facilitate travel for locals and tourists, including sightseeing and worship at the Dong Yen Tu historical and cultural relic complex (Quang Ninh), the Tay Yen Tu scenic area (Bac Giang) and the Con Son - Kiep Bac relic site (Hai Duong). At the same time, it will promote the socio-economic development of the localities.

Changing the purpose of forest use will remove difficulties in site clearance for the project. This project has completed more than 70% of the route length but is currently halted and behind schedule due to procedures to convert forest land to other purposes.
