The title “Friend of Chinese Literature” was awarded to a Vietnamese translator.

Within the framework of the 7th International Conference on Chinese Literature Translation for Sinologists, Chairman of the Chinese Writers Association Truong Hong Sam awarded the title "Friend of Chinese Literature" to translator Nguyen Le Chi and 14 literary translators from many other literary backgrounds.

This specialized conference on literary translation has been held since 2010, and is held every two years, attracting many famous literary translators from many countries.

This year's conference revolved around the theme "Translation for the Future", with the participation of 39 leading Chinese writers such as Liu Zhenyun, Dongxi, Bi Feiyu... and 39 leading literary translators from countries such as Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, Nepal, Korea, Japan, Mexico, England, Turkey, Spain, Netherlands, Poland, Italy, Iran...

Sharing at the ceremony, translator Nguyen Le Chi said: “Reading and translating good stories has been my lifelong hobby. Having the opportunity to translate excellent literary works, especially Chinese literature, is a lucky opportunity for me. Thank you to the Chinese writers who have written good stories for me to share and enjoy with Vietnamese readers over the past 25 years. I hope that I will continue my journey of searching and discovering good stories to continue sharing with readers of both China and Vietnam, becoming a literary bridge for readers of both countries. Sharing Vietnamese literature to China and other countries is also something that I always hope for and strive to do.”
