People's Army Cinema and the entire crew are also aware that cinema is not only the art of storytelling through images, but also a bridge to spread the historical values, culture and people of Vietnam to the general public.

Red Rain (script: writer Chu Lai) was made based on the inspiration and fiction from the event of 81 days and nights when our army and people fought bravely to protect the ancient citadel of Quang Tri in 1972. Those 81 days and nights have gone down in the glorious history of the nation, a testament to the aspiration for independence, freedom, and national unification of the Vietnamese people in the resistance war against the US to save the country.
The story in the film not only recreates the tragic history of Quang Tri ancient citadel, but also depicts the resilient spirit and willingness to sacrifice of the previous generation in the fight to protect every inch of the sacred land of the Fatherland.
Through the lens of cinema, the film becomes a touching tribute, connecting heroic memories with the present, while at the same time igniting in today's generation pride, appreciation and awareness of preserving the values of peace, independence and freedom - things that previous generations exchanged with blood and bones to obtain.
The film will have early screenings from 6pm on August 21 before officially opening on August 22.
According to Box Office Vietnam, the film currently has pre-booked ticket revenue of nearly 10 billion VND - an impressive number not only for a film about historical revolutionary war, but also for a Vietnamese film in general.
