On the afternoon of August 19, the Vietnamese Embassy in Finland solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
The event was attended by leaders of ministries, sectors and the Finnish Parliament, diplomatic corps, major cities, the business community, and a large number of Vietnamese expatriates living, studying and working in Finland, demonstrating the growing interest, attachment and friendship between Vietnam, Finland and international friends.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Finland Pham Thi Thanh Binh emphasized the great historical significance of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, an event that not only changed the destiny of the Vietnamese nation, but also contributed to lighting the fire of struggle for independence and freedom of many nations around the world .
The Ambassador affirmed that after 80 years of construction and development, Vietnam today has become an independent, stable and dynamic country in the Asia- Pacific region. The achievements in economic and social development and international integration are the result of resilience, creativity and determination, marking a strong transition into the " Era of Rising".

In her speech, Ambassador Pham Thi Thanh Binh emphasized that on the development journey, Vietnam always appreciates the companionship and support of international partners, including Finland.
Cooperation between the two countries in many areas – from education, technology, innovation to trade and sustainable development – has been increasingly consolidated and expanded. Vietnam strongly believes that the traditional friendship and substantive cooperation will continue to be elevated, bringing practical benefits to the people of both countries.
Ambassador Pham Thi Thanh Binh also emphasized that the achievements are a source of pride and have the contribution not only of compatriots in the country, but also of millions of Vietnamese people abroad - including the Vietnamese community in Finland, who, although far from their homeland, are still an inseparable part of the great national unity bloc. "Vietnam is one, the Vietnamese people are one. Nothing can separate the will, origin and common future of all Vietnamese people, whether at home or abroad."
On this occasion, the Embassy organized a painting exhibition with the theme "Vietnam Heritage ", introducing the unique cultural features, traditional values and natural beauty of the country, especially introducing the heritage of the Yen Tu-Vinh Nghiem-Con Son and Kiep Bac Monuments and Landscape Complex, which has just been recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage. The exhibition attracted special attention from international friends, contributing to promoting the image of Vietnam with rich identity, dynamism and openness.
The ceremony is not only an opportunity for the Vietnamese community in Finland to review national traditions, but also a bridge to promote understanding and cooperation between the people of the two countries.
In a solemn yet warm atmosphere, the event left many deep impressions, contributing to spreading the spirit of solidarity, national pride and aspirations of Vietnam in the new era.
