Authorities have found the remaining pilot in the military plane crash in Binh Dinh. The location where pilot Nguyen Van Son was found is near the area where pilot Nguyen Hong Quan was previously found.


Late on November 6, speaking with Giao Thong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Phan Chi Hung, Chairman of Tay Son District People's Committee (Binh Dinh Province) said that the authorities had found Colonel Nguyen Van Son, Commander of Air Force Regiment 940 (the remaining pilot in the military plane crash in the area).

Pilot Nguyen Van Son was found at around 10pm. The location where he was found was in the mountainous area of ​​Tay Phu commune, near where pilot Quan was found earlier. Pilot Son is in stable condition and is currently being taken out of the forest.

Thus, both pilots in the military plane crash in Binh Dinh on the morning of the same day (November 6) were found in stable health condition.

Previously, at 6:56 p.m. on November 6, Mr. Tran Thanh Hai, Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 5, called Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hong Quan - Flight Commander of Air Force Regiment 940. Mr. Hai requested Unit 573 (at this time about 500m away from Colonel Quan's position) to quickly approach and bring the pilot to Ham Ho area (Tay Phu commune, Tay Son district) for health care. At the same time, Mr. Tran Thanh Hai also changed direction to search for Colonel Nguyen Van Son and has now determined the location of this pilot.

Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, was present in Tay Phu commune (Tay Son district) to direct the search for the missing pilot.

As reported, the Yak-130 military aircraft of the 940th Air Regiment, Air Force Officer School crashed after an accident at noon on November 6.

At that time, Air Regiment 940 organized a training flight right at Phu Cat airport with Yak-130 aircraft, flying long distances, through the air, through clouds in complex meteorological conditions.

The training flight was led by Colonel Nguyen Van Son - Regiment Commander - flying in the front cabin and Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hong Quan - Flight Director - flying in the back cabin. This was the second flight of the front cabin pilot in the flight team of the day.

The plane took off at 9:55 a.m., and at 10:38 a.m., when finishing the return flight to land, the pilot reported that the plane's landing gear could not be released. At the same time, measures were taken to handle the emergency landing gear release situation but were still unsuccessful.
