Need a strategy to develop a team of music composers and performers

I highly agree with the content of the Draft Political Report submitted to the City Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term when affirming the role of culture and arts in the comprehensive development of the city. However, the music sector - a strength and also the "voice of the soul" of Hai Phong people - needs to be mentioned more specifically, especially in terms of investment and support to improve the quality of the creative team.

In the field of music , the city is proud to have great names deeply attached to the spiritual life of Vietnamese people such as musicians To Vu, Nguyen Van Thuong, Van Cao, Tran Hoan, Vu Loan, Doan Chuan, Hoang Quy, Ngo Thuy Mien, Ha Duc Hau, Luong Vinh, Nguyen Kim, Pham Van Hanh, Duy Thai... Currently, the next generation of musicians such as Xuan Binh, Xuan Tri, Duc Hoai and singers loved by the audience such as People's Artist Nhat Thuan, People's Artist Khanh Hoa... continue to preserve and promote that tradition.

However, the reality shows that the city’s young creative force is still small; most of them operate based on personal passion, lacking professional training, exchange, practical experience as well as opportunities to access modern music technology. Many young authors have good works but do not have the conditions to stage, record, and widely disseminate them.

It is recommended that the Political Report supplement strategic solutions to develop the city’s music composition and performance team. Specifically, regularly organize music composition camps related to the theme of Hai Phong and major political and social events; provide financial support for new works, from composition, arrangement, staging to promotion; invite prestigious domestic and foreign musicians and producers to train the composition and performance team; create conditions for the works of Hai Phong musicians to be performed periodically at theaters, squares, and public spaces.

In addition, it is necessary to link music with tourism and service development through organizing programs, street music festivals, music concerts at ports, relics, scenic spots, etc. to bring music into life. If there is a methodical strategy and reasonable support mechanism, Hai Phong can completely affirm its position as a strong center for music composition and performance in the country, contributing significantly to the goal of building a "Civilized - Modern - Compassionate" city in the new term.
