Da Nang mobilizes all forces to respond to storm No. 3 (Wipha)

Accordingly, the Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee requested departments, branches, localities and functional forces across the city to proactively monitor the storm's developments and proactively deploy natural disaster prevention and control work according to their assigned functions and tasks. Pay special attention to high-risk areas such as tourist spots, aquaculture areas, coastal works, mountainous areas and mineral exploitation areas.

The City Military Command directed the Border Guard Command to promptly notify vessels operating at sea, especially in the Hoang Sa and Bac Bo Gulf areas, of the storm's direction of movement, to proactively avoid or safely take shelter ashore. At the same time, relevant units must ensure smooth communication, count vessels and regularly report to the Da Nang City Command for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense. Based on the developments of storm No. 3, proactively decide to ban fishing vessels, transport vessels and tourist boats from the sea.

Da Nang City Police were assigned to coordinate with relevant units to ensure security and order at boat anchorage areas such as Tho Quang Wharf, Man Quang Bay, etc. and to arrange a permanent force for fire prevention and fighting to prevent incidents in stormy conditions. Da Nang Maritime Port Authority was requested to review the anchorage activities of transport ships and cargo ships to ensure safety in Da Nang Bay.

The telegram also requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, People's Committees of wards, communes and special zones to regularly update weather information, helping people grasp the situation and proactively respond. Localities need to pay special attention to the safety of reservoirs, check equipment, on-duty forces and ensure the safety of people in the downstream area of the dam.

According to records at Tho Quang fishing port, hundreds of fishing boats of Da Nang city and central provinces have urgently returned to safe anchorage. Many fishermen took the opportunity to reinforce their anchor ropes, ready to respond when the storm makes landfall.
