14 years ago, the first flight from Seoul (Korea) to Da Nang operated by Asiana Airlines opened a journey of exchange and connection between the two destinations.

Soon after, Korean Air continued to participate, making Korea quickly become one of the three largest international markets of Da Nang since 2012 and maintaining the No. 1 position from 2016 to present.

In 2011, there was only one airline from Korea to Da Nang, now there are 12 direct flights, including 10 different airlines along with Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air.

Total operating frequency increased 22 times, from 7 to 150 flights/week, making Korea the international market with the densest air network to Da Nang.

During the period of strong development (2015-2019) and the recovery period after Covid-19, the number of international visitors to Da Nang increased strongly (reaching 120-130%). In particular, the Korean market doubled in number of visitors and continuously led the number of international visitors to the city.

At the event, Da Nang city held a solemn welcome ceremony for 3 special guests, including the 999,999th guest, the 1 millionth guest and the 1,000,001st guest.

In addition, the program also welcomed 7 lucky Korean guests, who were awarded fresh flowers, souvenir bags, service vouchers, and traditional hand-painted conical hats.

Mr. Tran Chi Cuong, Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee, said that since 2022, Korea has always been the largest international tourism market of Da Nang city.

“In just the first 7 months of 2025, the city has reached a record of 1 million Korean visitors, a number that not only reflects the outstanding attraction of Da Nang, but also affirms the strong friendship between the people of Vietnam and Korea,” said Mr. Tran Chi Cuong.

The Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee also affirmed that the 4th Vietnam - Korea Festival in 2025 marks the beginning of a new era of development, opening up broad prospects in the cooperative relationship in many fields between the new Da Nang city and the local government and Korean partners.

The leaders of Da Nang city also hope to work with Korean partners to form practical cooperation initiatives, further deepen and expand the cooperative relationship between the two sides and contribute to the connection and common prosperity between Vietnam and Korea in the new development period.
