By the time of the closing date for the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award, the Standing Agency of the Award (Party Building Magazine) had received a total of 2,544 entries, an increase of 328 entries (14.8%) compared to 2023. Of these, there were 789 print works, 725 electronic works, 576 television works, 329 radio works and 125 photojournalistic works.

The Organizing Committee of the Golden Hammer and Sickle Awards has established a Preliminary Council consisting of the Chairman of the Council, 3 Vice Chairmen of the Council and 6 subcommittees with 56 members who are dedicated, responsible and experienced journalists in judging journalism awards. With a sense of urgency and high responsibility, from November 15 to December 1, all 6/6 subcommittees of the Preliminary Council have completed the preliminary round of judging.

After judging and discussing the results, the Preliminary Council unanimously introduced 137 works for the final round. Specifically, the Print Newspaper Subcommittee 1 (editorials, commentaries, specials, etc.) selected 15 works, the Print Newspaper Subcommittee 2 (reports, investigations, reflections, etc.) selected 32 works, the Electronic Newspaper Subcommittee selected 36 works, the Visual Newspaper Subcommittee selected 30 works, the Radio Subcommittee selected 15 works, and the Photo Subcommittee selected 9 works.

Concluding the meeting, comrade Phan Thang An assessed that the preliminary subcommittees had worked urgently and responsibly, closely following the rules, regulations, and Rules of the Award, selecting outstanding works to introduce to the final round. He suggested that the Standing Committee of the Award receive comments, supplement, and complete the report sent to the Final Round Council, and should do a better job of communicating and widely promoting the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award before, during, and after the Award Ceremony.
