On November 4, 2023, in Hoa Lac, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) held the 2023 Investment Promotion Conference. This is the second conference (since the first one held on December 10, 2022) and is an annual activity organized by VNU; it is one of a series of activities to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Government's Decree on VNU (December 10, 1993 - December 10, 2023).

Speaking at the conference, VNU President Le Quan reviewed the results of public-private partnership after 1 year since the 2022 Investment Promotion Conference was held.

The Director of VNU emphasized that the mission of VNU is to train high-quality human resources, nurture talents, conduct scientific research, and transfer and apply scientific and technological products to serve life. Therefore, VNU really needs the support of business partners and entrepreneurs to fulfill this mission.

Mr. Quan added that from the 2022 Investment Promotion Conference, many ideas and suggestions were put forward, helping to clear the need for cooperation from the need to solve development problems, not only for VNU but also opening up the right direction for socio-economic development for partners, including localities.

He expressed his hope that businesses and partners would continue to pay attention and cooperate with VNU, not only in funding but also in supporting training, creating an internship environment for students, and transferring research to help VNU develop many new engineering and technology fields associated with business development.

Representing RMIT University, Ms. Claire Macken - Vice President of RMIT Australia, General Director of RMIT Vietnam said that the Innovation Space of VNU and RMIT University, which was just opened within the framework of the 2023 Investment Promotion Conference, is expected to be a place to connect the two universities with educational partners and businesses to jointly implement research and development projects, focusing on the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

RMIT Vietnam General Director Claire Macken expressed her desire to accompany VNU to create an investment environment for Vietnamese education.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Son - Chairman of the Vietnam Association for Consumer Goods Development (VACOD), Chairman of the Hanoi Business Association (HBA) highly appreciated the idea of ​​organizing the Investment Promotion Conference of VNU.

According to Mr. Son, the investment promotion model that VNU organizes does not only stop at finding investment opportunities in existing projects and works in the VNU Urban Area in Hoa Lac, but also seeks investment opportunities in research works, topics/projects, and science and technology products of VNU scientists.

The 2023 Investment Promotion Conference is held to attract the attention of the business community and enterprises to the fields of education and training and science & technology (S&T); promote investment in developing a national-level University Urban Area, approaching international-class universities;

At the same time, it creates opportunities to promote the brands, images, and products of businesses participating in the conference. This is also an opportunity to connect students with employers, support businesses in recruiting excellent students, and attract talents to supplement the shortage of human resources.

The conference includes 1 plenary session, 6 parallel thematic conferences with the following contents: (1) Promoting investment in the VNU Urban Area in Hoa Lac; (2) High-tech medicine and health sciences; (3) Investing in education, training of talents and high quality;

(4) Attracting investment from Japanese enterprises; (5) Developing technology and semiconductor industry; (6) Attracting investment from Taiwanese and Singaporean enterprises in research on resources and environment at VNU.

At the seminars, scientists and business partners exchanged and discussed cooperation and investment opportunities in the VNU project in Hoa Lac; investment mechanisms under the public-private partnership model and PPP issues in education in Vietnam; solutions to implement the VNU investment promotion portfolio for the business community... The exchanged opinions are the premise for VNU to continue developing cooperation opportunities in various fields with strategic partners.

At the session on “Promoting investment in the VNU Urban Area”, VNU organized the signing of cooperation agreements (MOU) with 6 investors: Vitath Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company, Phuc Lam Trade and Service Development Company Limited, Vietnam National Electricity Joint Stock Company, HAMOLAND Joint Stock Company, Thanh Tam Trade and Investment Joint Stock Company, Manud Vietnam Essence Solutions Joint Stock Company.

Within the framework of the conference, there were investment connection activities for research groups, science and technology products, start-up projects with investors; Exhibition of science and technology potential of VNU; Display and introduction of products of businesses, sponsors combined with job recruitment...
