By a very unexpected mistake, one day, eleven-year-old Frank John Davenport suddenly inherited a fortune from his “step-grandmother”, whom he had never known. That huge sum of money came to him along with serious instructions asking him to take care of Mr. Frank Ernest Davenport whenever he needed it. And so Frank John Davenport’s grandfather came to him in such a surprising way, because up until now, he had never heard his father mention him. And then, he also began to enter his grandfather’s life with a series of happy days called “The List of Triumphs”.

Carrying the joy of “having a brand new grandpa still alive” and the promise to “take good care of him so that the surprise reward will also be mine”, young Frank went to the Golden Autumn Leaves nursing home where his grandpa was living. Frank quickly made a “Bucket List” of “all the things he should do in life before he dies” and prepared for a “grandpa Frank adventure campaign ready to start”. The two of them flew in a hot air balloon, drove a monster truck, participated in a dog show, swam with the “Dolphin team”, and even experienced the extreme sport of parkour.

Each of the two grandfather and grandson's adventures gradually revealed the story of the Davenport family's breakdown. But, after all, the boy Frank helped his father and grandfather reconcile, and brought Frank's grandfather from a grumpy old man who painted a picture with bold brush strokes and the words "I have nothing to be happy about" to a journey of "living the happiest days" filled with warmth and love.

Grandpa Frank was no longer alone when he painted his own picture of happiness. Every time he looked at the picture his grandfather left behind, little Frank seemed to realize something new. Like how caring for someone else can bring happiness to yourself, or sometimes we have to face it head on, especially with the walls that block our way.

Blending depth, emotion and charming humor, author Jenny Pearson leads readers on a great adventure about family, where, after each journey, readers find the meaning of family, of sharing, of love, and realize that "true happiness comes without a price."

The book “Grandpa's Adventures” - a story about half a million pounds, a brand new grandfather, and a priceless adventure - is illustrated by artist David O'Connell, translated by Eva La Lune, and published by Nha Nam and the Writers' Association Publishing House.
