Quang Nam Club withdraws from V-League

Quang Nam FC won the 2017 V-League championship and the Tam Ky team also successfully stayed in the league when finishing 11th overall in the 2024-2025 season. However, the Quang Nam team could not find a sponsor, lost operating funds and had to disband.

Previously, the leaders of Quang Nam Club announced good news to fans when they said that two businesses agreed to sponsor and accompany the team in the 2025-2026 season. However, by 5 p.m. on August 1, the deadline for registering the competition list, Quang Nam still had not responded to the organizing committee, which means officially withdrawing from the V-League.

Information about Quang Nam Club's dissolution appeared in mid-July 2025 and many players packed their bags to leave the team's headquarters. The Quang Nam Club's coaching staff also expired after the 2024-2025 season ended.

Quang Nam's withdrawal from the tournament means that the 2025-2026 V-League will have only 13 teams. The organizing committee will approach the option of promoting a team from the First Division to compete. However, there is only half a month left before the first round of the tournament begins, and this makes it difficult for the teams chosen to replace them to turn around in time to buy foreign players and strengthen their squad.

In case Truong Tuoi Dong Nai Club and PVF-CAND do not agree to participate in V-League 2025-2026, the organizing committee (VPF) will have to re-draw the match schedule from the beginning. In addition, Quang Nam football will also receive disciplinary action and may lose its name in the top domestic tournament.
