Quang Nam Club stops operating, players disband?

On the afternoon of July 21, many players of Quang Nam Club took to social media to express their sadness. They announced their farewells upon learning that Quang Nam Club would cease operations before the 2025-2026 season.

A player said dejectedly: "The team's leadership announced that the team will disband after the province's merger. I don't know where it will go. Regarding financial matters, the team has paid me in full before."

According to information from the club players, the leaders of Quang Nam Club met and informed the team of the decision of the leaders, sponsors and the next direction after Quang Nam Club disbanded.

A member said that any players who want to leave will be facilitated, and players still under contract will be transferred to Da Nang Club when Quang Nam Club ceases operations.

Previously, Quang Nam Club had a meeting with the sponsor about the plan to maintain or merge the team after Quang Nam province merged with Da Nang. The decision was to stop Quang Nam team.

The team has made a report to send to the People's Committee of Da Nang city for comments and waiting for a decision.

Quang Nam Club coach - Mr. Van Sy Son is not present at this time. Mr. Sy Son is studying for the Pro Coaching Certificate of the Vietnam Football Federation in Japan and will soon return to Vietnam.

Coach Van Sy Son asked to resign earlier but was not accepted. He helped Quang Nam FC stay in the league, forcing Da Nang FC to play a play-off match with Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc .

Yesterday, Quang Nam Club participated in the Thien Long Tournament at their home stadium Tam Ky. They were also the organizers of the tournament, but today the team is on the verge of disbanding.

The team also said goodbye to a number of players such as goalkeeper Nguyen Van Cong, goalkeeper Tong Duc Anh, midfielder Phan Thanh Hau and 3 foreign players from last season.

The V-League Organizing Committee has drawn lots and arranged the schedule for the 2025-2026 season. If Quang Nam Club does not participate in the tournament, it will greatly affect the organization of the new season and the tournament's regulations.

Currently, the Vietnam Football Federation and VPF Company are still waiting for an official report from Quang Nam Club on this matter.
