In the first quarter of 2025, Van Canh district strived to implement the Government and provincial directives, aiming for a socio-economic growth target of 8% or more. Despite facing many difficulties, the district achieved 7/24 targets, with the total value of local products reaching over 655 billion VND, up 11.79% over the same period, completing 16.97% of the annual plan.
The agriculture, forestry and fishery sectors increased by 3.57%; industry and construction increased by 15.54%; and services increased by 6.7%. The economic structure shifted positively, with the proportion of agriculture at 16.73%, industry and construction at 64.47%, and services at 18.80%.
Budget revenue reached 35,427 billion VND (19.45% of the provincial estimate), budget expenditure reached 118,089 billion VND (26.67%). Disbursement of public investment capital reached 13.27%, and capital for the National Target Program reached 10.4%.
The district has also attracted the Van Canh Town Industrial Cluster project (VND 393.77 billion) and Van Canh Wind Power Plant.
Social security work was ensured, 419 houses were completed for poor and near-poor households, of which 230 houses were put into use. Van Canh successfully organized the 50th anniversary of the district's Liberation Day, built a national intangible cultural heritage project, ensured security and defense, and organized the Lunar New Year 2025 safely and economically.
Administrative restructuring was carried out, merging 7 communes and towns into 3 new commune-level units.
However, the district still faces difficulties due to weather affecting agricultural production, slow disbursement progress of capital from the National Target Program, and site clearance for some projects that have not met requirements.

In the second quarter of 2025, the district sets a target of GRDP growth of 11.5-12.4%, focusing on transforming crop structure, promoting disbursement of public investment capital, developing industry, tourism, ensuring social security, administrative reform and national defense - security.
The district proposed that the province pay attention to calling for investment, expanding the clean water supply network, speeding up infrastructure projects and supporting cultural and tourism events in 2025.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts, enthusiasm and ability to grasp the work quickly of the district leaders. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee urged the locality to work better in the context of institutional innovation.
Regarding the tasks in the coming time, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan requested the district to urge the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses, to be completed before April 30, 2025, and to commend and reward officials who do well. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested the district to pay attention to sustainable poverty reduction by creating jobs for people.
Regarding socio-economic development, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan emphasized the importance of trained human resources. He requested Van Canh district to focus on supporting Becamex Binh Dinh Industrial Park by coordinating with the Department of Education and the Department of Home Affairs to survey labor needs, provide appropriate vocational training, and combine the State and businesses to support training costs and food expenses. "We need to create conditions for Becamex to develop, this industrial park is expected to bring in revenue of thousands to tens of thousands of billions of VND for reinvestment," Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan noted.
Regarding the work of reorganizing the apparatus, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan said that it is necessary to arrange competent, dedicated, and ethical staff according to the work base, assign permanent units to the old communes to support people in remote areas, and work "three shifts, four shifts" to keep up with progress.
Regarding public assets, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the district to review assets and management units, and propose reasonable usage plans after the arrangement.
Before the district level was dissolved, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the district leaders and officials to completely handle the backlog of work, especially supporting investors, public investment, speeding up compensation, and determining land prices.

“I hope that the communes separated from Van Canh will enjoy the achievements of development, this place will be very different,” said Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan.
With local proposals and recommendations, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee will direct departments and branches to focus on support.
Also this afternoon, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan inspected the area preparing to expand the Van Canh Industrial Cluster in Van Canh town with a scale of 38 hectares.
