Hanoi Chairman requests to inspect and handle the dissemination of false information about Vietjet

Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh directed to handle social media accounts posting false information about leaders of Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company.

On June 2, the Hanoi People's Committee issued an official dispatch on checking and handling information related to Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company, in which the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee requested the responsible agency to handle false information about this airline on social networks.

Hanoi People's Committee received Document No. 03-25/VJC-TTTT dated May 21, 2025 from Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company regarding the handling of false information posted on many Facebook social network accounts, greatly affecting the company's image.

Regarding this matter, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh assigned the Department of Culture and Sports to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to inspect and handle according to legal regulations. At the same time, report to the City People's Committee the implementation results.

Recently, on Facebook, information related to flight delays of Vietjet Air has continuously appeared.

Earlier this year, the Inspectorate of the Hanoi Department of Information and Communications (now the Department of Culture and Sports) issued a decision to administratively sanction two people for posting fabricated and insulting information that affected the reputation and honor of a leader of Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company on the social network Facebook.

The authorities said that the actions of the two individuals above violated the provisions of Point b, Clause 3, Article 16 of the Law on Cyber ​​Security. In addition to being administratively sanctioned, the unit requested the individuals to remove the violating information.
