On June 1, at Ho Chi Minh Square (Vinh city, Nghe An), Nghe An Provincial Youth Union coordinated with the Department of Education and Training and Military School of Military Region 4 to organize the launching ceremony of the program "Semester in the Nghe An province army" in 2024.

The class "Semester in the Nghe An Province Army 2024" was held from June 1 to June 9 at the Military School of Military Region 4 (Nam Dan District) with nearly 400 students from units inside and outside the province.

The “Military Semester” class is a model of activity with political and social significance, contributing to educating revolutionary traditions and ideals, and fostering patriotism for young people in the new era. Through the program, the aim is to equip students with basic knowledge about the traditions of the Vietnam People’s Army, military science, and exercises in movement, overcoming obstacles, and field marching.

Along with that, students in the semester will be equipped with life skills, soft skills, and volunteer spirit for young people. Train students' independence through contents such as: Arranging internal affairs; doing laundry; increasing production and necessary knowledge to take care of themselves and their teammates. Students also learn skills to deal with dangerous situations, take care of the sick; build solidarity, teamwork skills; how to adapt and survive in modern society.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thuy - Standing Deputy Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union requested teachers, coordinators, and staff assigned to be in charge of the class to uphold the spirit of responsibility, solidarity, and implement the class curriculum to ensure absolute safety for students.

Standing Deputy Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union Nguyen Thi Phuong Thuy suggested that the students should try their best to complete the basic training content required of soldiers, and experience real life and activities in a collective environment. From there, they will learn to be independent and adapt to life away from their families. In addition, they will know how to overcome difficulties in each training content to accumulate experience, skills and gradually grow up and become more mature and brave.

Being away from home for the first time, many children could not hide their tears. However, with the encouragement of their parents and relatives, they were ready to embark on this meaningful and rewarding course.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thuy - Permanent Deputy Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union and delegates asked and encouraged the trainees to be confident and try their best to complete the training content well.

The semester in the army will help students access knowledge about life skills and social skills to be more confident and responsible in life; know how to share with the community and care for those around them; unite to help each other progress and move towards "Living with goals and discipline".
