The Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway resettlement area located in Gia Ray town, Xuan Loc district (Dong Nai) is urgently completing the final items to hand over to the people.

The project has a scale of nearly 9.5 hectares with a total investment of about 230 billion VND, and was assigned by the District People's Committee to the Xuan Loc District Project Management Board as the investor.

Starting in September 2020, the project will resettle about 220 households, of which 170 households are expected to be part of the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway project and about 50 households will give up land to build a resettlement area.

According to VietNamNet reporters, in mid-May, the construction unit completed the traffic routes, sidewalks, electricity and water systems, lighting, fire protection towers, etc.

Up to now, the progress of site clearance and technical infrastructure construction has reached more than 90% of the volume, the site clearance area has reached 9/9.45 hectares (there are still 7 households that have not been relocated).

The construction unit has marked the resettlement plots according to the plan to prepare for the people to draw lots for their places of residence. It is expected that the drawing of lots for the resettlement plots of the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway will be completed in June.

The land has been demarcated and marked, waiting for people to draw lots.

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Diep, Director of the Land Fund Development Center of Xuan Loc District, said that to implement the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway project through Xuan Loc District, hundreds of households had to be relocated. Therefore, the District People's Committee has implemented a resettlement area for affected households.

However, during the implementation process, many difficulties and problems have arisen, affecting the progress of the project. Specifically, determining capital sources, procedures, legal documents, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the coordination, inspection and supervision of the investor.

Electricity and water infrastructure of Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway resettlement area has been basically completed.

“The district continues to resolve problems for households subject to on-site resettlement who have not agreed to clearance, compensation and handover of land in accordance with legal regulations. If they do not comply, enforcement will be carried out to promptly organize resettlement arrangements for households,” said Mr. Diep.

In addition, to ensure the rights of households whose land is recovered and eligible for resettlement here, the locality has provided housing rental support for households with a support level of 3 million VND/month.

The 99km Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway with a total investment of more than 12,500 billion VND was put into operation at the end of April 2023. However, hundreds of people in Xuan Loc district (Dong Nai) have had to rent houses for nearly 4 years because they have not been granted resettlement land.
