On the afternoon of August 22, the leaders of Khanh Hoa University announced that the school had just issued a disciplinary decision to expel a 22-year-old female student majoring in Mathematics Education for using a fake TOEIC foreign language certificate to submit for graduation.
Accordingly, this female student was not only forced to drop out of school but also had to return the property borrowed from the school and reimburse the training costs for the 2021-2025 period, in the amount of 20 million VND. The unit that issued the certificate to the female student also responded in writing to the school with the content that the TOEIC certificate was fake.

Previously, in May 2025, during the process of receiving graduation application documents, the school required students to submit all required certificates, including foreign language output standards equivalent to level B2. Through the verification process and comparison with the certificate issuing unit, the school discovered that the female student had submitted a fake TOEIC certificate.
According to the leaders of Khanh Hoa University, recently, the school has discovered many cases of students using fake foreign language certificates. Therefore, all certificates submitted by students are carefully re-evaluated by the school.
