Department of Agriculture and Environment mobilizes all people to participate in environmental protection

In recent years, environmental protection work in the province has had positive changes, many environmental protection models have been implemented with good results. Awareness of compliance with environmental protection laws of organizations, individuals and people has been raised, the quality of people's living environment has been increasingly improved.

However, the problem of household waste being discharged into the environment, waste being collected in the wrong places, and wastewater in urban and residential areas not being collected and treated are directly affecting people's quality of life.

Leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment and the People's Committee of Nenh Ward responded to the environmental cleaning.

At the launching ceremony, the leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment called on all levels, sectors, agencies, units and all people to maintain environmental hygiene, maintain regular activities to join hands in protecting the environment, build and replicate models of environmental protection, periodically organize cleaning, collect waste, and clear sewers. Review and arrange garbage collection points, public trash bins, equipment, and appropriate means of collection and transportation in residential areas, markets, bus stations, schools, entertainment areas, especially at locations where activities and events are held to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day, September 2.

According to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the whole province generates about 2,000 tons of solid waste every day, the rate of waste collected and treated is 97% by high-tech incinerators generating electricity, small capacity incinerators, and sanitary landfills. The whole province currently has 7 enterprises performing the task of collecting, transporting, and treating waste, 100% of communes and wards have waste collection and transportation service teams.

In Nenh ward, about 90 tons of various types of waste are generated every day, of which the collection, transportation and treatment rate reaches 98%. The whole ward currently has 3 Cooperatives for collecting and transporting waste, and 31 service teams for daily waste collection. The movement of cleaning, collecting waste, protecting and maintaining environmental hygiene is launched periodically by the Women's Union of the ward every Sunday.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, leaders and officials of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the People's Committee of Nenh Ward and about 300 members of the Veterans Association, female members, union members, youth, and students of Nguyen Binh Khiem High School participated in cleaning and collecting nearly 3 tons of waste accumulated in the Ninh Khanh residential area.

All waste collected at the launching ceremony was transported to the treatment site.
