Vietnam Post and Cake launch “Freedom 2in1” card inspired by postage stamps

One card - two cash flows - many utilities

The “Freedom 2in1” card integrates an international payment card and a credit card into the same product, allowing customers to maintain only one card but still flexibly use two sources of money. The highlight of the product is the SmartSwitch feature, allowing users to proactively choose the source of money and priority for each type of transaction. Cardholders can set the default priority for online shopping from the credit source, the default priority for cash withdrawal from the payment account. If the priority source runs out of money/limit, the system will automatically switch to the remaining source, ensuring seamless and uninterrupted transactions.

With this mechanism, customers do not need to issue two cards in parallel, debit and credit, but with just one 2in1 Freedom card, they can control both the credit limit and payment account. Along with that is a series of incentives such as 20% cashback up to 1 million VND per month for many selected product categories, 0% interest installments and interest-free period of up to 45 days.

To balance aesthetics and security, the back of the card is kept minimal, with important information such as card number, CVV, and expiration date kept secure and only visible in the Cake app.

Design with strong Vietnamese identity

Not only focusing on utility, the “Freedom 2in1” card also carries cultural value as it is inspired by the historical stamp “North and South are one house, the country and rivers are connected” designed by artist Nguyen Du (Vietnam Post). This image evokes the spirit of solidarity and inspires the desire for freedom and national pride.

Within the framework of the campaign “One Vietnam in the heart - One life in the hand”, from August 22 to 24, many experiential activities took place at the Hanoi Post Office. Visitors can both reminisce about the old Hanoi space - newspaper stalls, iced tea, and to he - and experience modernity through photobooths and giant LED card models. Each participant was also invited to share a message for the question “What is Vietnam in your heart?”, contributing to completing the bright LED map of Vietnam.
