Speaking at the ceremony, Acting Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Duc Thang emphasized that this is not only a political and social event of great significance on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, but also an opportunity for each agency, organization and citizen to demonstrate their responsibility and love for their homeland through specific actions in environmental protection.
"In recent times, Hanoi has clearly demonstrated its pioneering role with many large-scale general cleaning campaigns. Right at the time of the launching ceremony, many communes and wards of the capital, especially the three wards of Cau Giay, Nghia Do, and Yen Hoa, are simultaneously implementing waste collection and environmental improvement activities. Based on that reality, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment calls on the whole country to simultaneously launch a general cleaning campaign every Saturday morning, starting today, as a practical activity to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2," Acting Minister Tran Duc Thang emphasized.

Accordingly, the environmental sanitation movement focuses on 4 groups of solutions, including: Raising the awareness of each individual, family, and community in practicing a civilized lifestyle; not littering, dumping garbage in the right place, at the right time; actively participating in general cleaning activities at home, workplace, school, residential area, river, lake, beach. Every citizen can become a "green soldier" on the environmental protection front.
Next, authorities at all levels need to mobilize the entire political system, closely coordinate with the Fatherland Front , unions at all levels, and social organizations to organize a widespread, practical, and effective movement; arrange adequate means and locations for waste collection and treatment, and avoid backlogs that cause environmental pollution...

At the same time, socio-political organizations need to promote their core role. The Vietnam Fatherland Front is expected to continue to be the "conductor" to arouse the spirit of community solidarity; young people turn their enthusiasm into green works on the streets, rivers, and beaches; women build "green homes" from each family; veterans set an example of discipline, will and responsibility; farmers take the lead in clean production; workers and laborers should build each factory and workshop into a "green fortress", contributing to building a modern but environmentally friendly industry....
Also at the launching ceremony, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi Bui Huyen Mai affirmed: Today's launching ceremony is not only a concrete activity to implement the Prime Minister's Official Dispatch No. 134/CD-TTg, but also a clear demonstration of Hanoi's commitment to responsibility in building a civilized, modern, and sustainably developed capital.

Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city Bui Huyen Mai called on all people in the capital to immediately take small but practical actions: Throwing garbage in the right place, sorting garbage at the source, limiting the use of plastic bags, planting more trees, cleaning up houses, schools, offices, residential areas... Those simple actions, when replicated, will contribute to improving the living environment, building the image of Hanoi as "Bright - green - clean - beautiful" in the eyes of international friends.
Immediately after the launching ceremony, in many wards of Hanoi, such as Cau Giay, Nghia Do, Yen Hoa..., hundreds of people, students and pupils simultaneously participated in cleaning the streets, collecting trash and beautifying the landscape.
