Cheap air tickets are plentiful.

Speaking to reporters, a representative of Vietnam Airlines said that during the 6 peak days from August 29 to September 3, Vietnam Airlines provided nearly 600,000 seats across its entire flight network, equivalent to nearly 2,900 flights, an increase of more than 100,000 seats compared to last year.

On the domestic flight network, the airline focuses on increasing the frequency of flights between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang; between Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Cam Ranh, Da Lat, Hue... The airline's total number of domestic seats reaches nearly 418,000 seats, equivalent to more than 2,100 flights, an increase of 30% over the same period in 2024.

Similarly, Vietjet Air also added 10,000 seats from August 30 to September 2 on many routes connecting major economic and tourist centers such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Hue, etc.

Due to the increase in the number of seats on the entire flight network, airfares on many routes during peak days remain stable, not increasing compared to normal days. Specifically, on the Ho Chi Minh City-Hanoi route, if traveling on August 30, Vietnam Airlines' economy class fares range from 1.9-3.74 million VND. Vietjet's fares are over 2.3-2.7 million VND and Bamboo Airways's are 2.1-2.3 million VND.

For the Da Nang-Hanoi route, Vietnam Airlines has a price of 2 million VND, if you choose to fly at night, the ticket price is 200,000-400,000 VND/ticket. Vietjet Air has a price of nearly 1.4-1.93 million VND and Bamboo Airways is selling tickets for 1.75 million VND. For the Hanoi-Nha Trang route, Vietnam Airlines is selling tickets for 2.4-3.6 million VND. Vietjet sells from 3-3.6 million VND. Bamboo Airways operates a single flight and the ticket price is more than 3.1 million VND and the number of seats is also very limited.

For the Hanoi-Phu Quoc route, Vietjet offers tickets at prices ranging from 3.37 to 4.1 million VND. Vietnam Airlines offers tickets at a price 200,000 to 300,000 VND higher than Vietjet. On the other hand, for passengers returning on September 2, the Phu Quoc-Hanoi route, Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet tickets are quite similar in price, ranging from 4 to 4.3 million VND. For the Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City route, Vietnam Airlines offers tickets at 1.67 to 2.34 million VND. Vietjet Air offers tickets at 1.8 to 3.3 million VND.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, it is estimated that on the peak day of National Day, September 2, Noi Bai International Airport will serve nearly 110,000 passengers and 638 flights, about 20% higher than the same period in 2024. Tan Son Nhat Airport is expected to have an average of 730 flights departing and arriving per day; the average number of passengers per day is expected to be about 125,000. In particular, on the two peak days on August 30 and September 2, there are expected to be 750 flights with 130,000 passengers.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requires Vietnamese airlines to closely monitor the situation of booking and ticket sales to promptly adjust their operation plans, add and increase flights on routes with high demand, especially routes to/from Hanoi in the days before and after the holidays. Airlines must strictly comply with legal regulations on domestic air transport prices, sell tickets within the price range and price policy of the airline; strictly control ticket sales activities of agents, ensuring that selling prices comply with regulations.

Trains and buses still have plenty of seats.

If you cannot travel by air, during the upcoming September 2nd holiday, people can choose to travel by train or bus. According to a survey by reporters, to meet the increased travel demand, in addition to the regular daily trains, the Railway Transport Joint Stock Company will add 51 trains to serve the travel needs of people during the National Day holiday on September 2, 2025.

The additional trains are mainly on the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City route, the train sections such as Hanoi - Hai Phong/Da Nang/Lao Cai/Vinh/Thanh Hoa/Dong Hoi and Ho Chi Minh City - Quy Nhon/Nha Trang/Phan Thiet, Hue - Da Nang. In addition, the Railway sector also set up 2 separate trains to transport about 1,200 soldiers from Hanoi to Tam Ky and Ho Chi Minh City on September 3 after completing their duties at the parade. As of the afternoon of August 21, 2025, more than 70,000 train tickets had been sold, reaching a rate of 41% over the same period.

For passenger buses to and from Hanoi, the number of passengers and vehicles is expected to increase during the National Day holiday this year from the afternoon of August 28-30 on both departure and arrival directions. The number of passengers will increase on September 1-2 and will gradually decrease on September 3-4.

"The highest number of passengers on peak days is about 20,000-22,000 passengers/day for departure and about 10,000-12,000 passengers/day for return, an increase of 350% compared to normal days. Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company also increased 1,000 passenger cars distributed by day and route depending on the increase in passenger volume," said Mr. Pham Manh Hung, Director of Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company.

During the time Hanoi City closes roads to serve the activities of the 80th National Day Anniversary, traveling to the airport, railway station and bus station may be difficult, therefore, transport units recommend passengers to arrive early before departure time to ensure not to miss the trip.

With the high number of passengers during the peak period of National Day, the transport unit has also proactively increased resources and added personnel to support passengers in completing procedures quickly and conveniently; increased information signs, instructions and guidance for passengers; arranged the most convenient parking locations for operating bus and taxi routes; coordinated with the local Department of Construction to have a plan to transfer passengers when congestion occurs at the airport, bus station and train station areas.
