‘Cánh cửa’ mở ra quá khứ đầy máu lửa
Book "Imprints of the August Revolution in 1945".

This is the crystallization of authentic historical documents, vivid emotions and profound reflections on a special period of the Vietnamese revolution, authentically recreating the seething atmosphere of the historic August days.

Readers can feel every breath of the revolution, every historical step in the decisive moment of the nation's destiny through historical documents such as the Uprising Order, the Declaration of Independence, the Resolution of the National Conference of the Indochinese Communist Party or the appeals of the Viet Minh Front...

The book does not simply record events, but brings history to life through memories, reminiscences, and writings of witnesses such as Vo Nguyen Giap, Truong Chinh, Tran Huy Lieu, Xuan Thuy, etc.

From the rally at the Opera House to the scene of “a Vietnamese girl tying up the Japanese enemy alive”, from major battles to activities such as launching literacy movements, famine relief… all appear realistic and touching like pieces of a puzzle contributing to completing a heroic and humane historical picture.

In particular, the book also connects the historical source of Vietnam's revolution over the past 80 years, from the two long resistance wars to the construction and defense of the Fatherland in the renovation period. Through that, readers not only recognize the historical values that created the August Revolution, but also understand more deeply the stature and contemporary significance of the achievements that our Party, State and people have achieved.

The country entered a new era, with the Party's major strategic orientations to realize the aspiration to successfully build a socialist Vietnam, a rich people, a strong country, democracy, equality, and civilization. In that context, the valuable historical lessons from the victory of the August Revolution in 1945 still hold true value, continuing to be an invaluable handbook for the entire Party, people, and army to maintain faith and determination to continue comprehensive innovation to build the country.

For the young generation, who were born in peace , grew up in the era of technology and modern life, the book is like a "door" opening to the fiery past, to understand the independence and freedom crystallized from the blood, tears and indomitable will of the whole nation. The authentic documents and intact emotions in the book will become a bridge connecting today with yesterday, so that each person can touch history with all the emotions, pride and gratitude.

The book consists of two chapters:

Chapter I “Historical Milestones” gathers core documents associated with the General Uprising and the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, such as the Appeal of the Indochinese Communist Party, the Call for General Uprising, Military Order No. 1 of the Uprising Committee, the Proclamation of the Establishment of the Provisional Government and especially the immortal Declaration of Independence drafted by President Ho Chi Minh , read to the entire nation on September 2, 1945 at Ba Dinh Square.

Chapter II “Unforgettable Years” is full of memories, reminiscences and narratives, with articles by historical witnesses, revolutionary activists and artists such as Vo Nguyen Giap, Truong Chinh, Tran Huy Lieu, Xuan Thuy, To Hoai, Hong Ha, Nhu Phong…
