How to transfer the red book to your own name after divorce?

Divorce is a difficult stage in life, not only because of the emotional issues but also because of the legal issues involved, such as dividing assets. One of the most common issues is transferring ownership of the red book (land use right certificate) to one person after divorce. Here is a detailed guide on how to do this.

The red book is a land use rights certificate, an important legal document confirming land ownership in Vietnam. According to the law, in case of divorce, common property will be divided according to the agreement of both parties or according to the court's decision if there is no consensus.

To transfer the red book to your own name after divorce, you need to prepare the following documents: Divorce certificate, this is a document proving your legal divorce status.

Original land use right certificate of the red book to be converted. Related tax and fee documents, including registration fee and personal income tax (if any). Document review: The competent authority will review the documents. If the documents are valid, they will update the new owner's information on the system.

Receive a new red book: Once the appraisal process is complete, you will be issued a new red book under your name. The time to complete this procedure can take about 15 working days.
