As of early August, the national fleet had 254 aircraft, an increase of 13 compared to the same period last year. Recently, Vietravel Airlines welcomed an Airbus A320 (registration number VU136) with a capacity of 182 seats and an Airbus A321 (registration number VN-A129) with a capacity of 228 seats. These two aircraft are part of the plan to add 3 new aircraft this summer.
The Civil Aviation Authority is stepping up safety supervision of airlines, maintenance organizations, training and airport operations, especially during peak holiday seasons.
