Airlines increase number of aircraft

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, in the first 7 months of 2025, the total passenger volume through airports reached 71 million, an increase of 7.5% over the same period; at the same time, over 967,000 tons of cargo were transported, an increase of nearly 14% over the same period in 2024.

As of early August, the national fleet had 254 aircraft, an increase of 13 compared to the same period last year. Recently, Vietravel Airlines welcomed an Airbus A320 (registration number VU136) with a capacity of 182 seats and an Airbus A321 (registration number VN-A129) with a capacity of 228 seats. These two aircraft are part of the plan to add 3 new aircraft this summer.

The Civil Aviation Authority is stepping up safety supervision of airlines, maintenance organizations, training and airport operations, especially during peak holiday seasons.
